Hearing her suddenly ask that, Arthur didn't know whether to laugh or cry. And in the end, he laughed softly.
"Aunt, do you suspect something strange in my question?" he asked, pretending he was only asking out of curiosity.
Of course, Amanda also made a conclusion after hearing all that.
She wondered if there was anything about that person other than that he knew about magic.
Isabel's expression didn't change because of Arthur's laughter, she was still looking into his eyes.
"If you don't say it, I'll ask Carla and Bella, they should have followed you before, right?" She said.
If she really asked them and they said that he (Arthur) had eaten together with Anna in the special room, Isabel would definitely jump to conclusions.
At this point, Arthur could only say that he was unlucky, unable to deceive his aunt because the latter was a smart woman.
"Amanda, can you come out for a while." Having no other choice, he could only say that to the woman beside him.
His words confirmed that there was indeed something.
Whether it was Amanda or Isabel, both narrowed their eyes. The former stood up and stepped out of the room while Isabel who was originally leaning back straightened her body, even coming forward slightly as if she wanted to look at Arthur more closely.
"Now say it!" She said right after Amanda closed the door.
"I met Anna earlier and she told me about Carla's father," Arthur replied, getting straight to the point.
"Anna?" Isabel's eyes moved to the window and became colder, looking like there was ill will towards Anna.
"Why did she tell you? Did you use magic to make her say things about my past? Arthur, you know -- This is something I don't like." She said without looking at Arthur. Her eyes were still on the window.
The answer to her question was something that Arthur found very difficult to answer.
There was a problem if he told the truth, and if he lied, Isabel would think that he had probed into her past.
"Aunt, this happened by accident." Fortunately, he had a long life experience. Although he was the type that rarely communicated, the word count in his head was still large enough that he could say slightly plausible nonsense under duress.
Isabel looked at him again, but obviously his words didn't affect her much.
It was just that, a moment later, she was a little calmer. Perhaps she decided to tolerate Arthur this time.
"If you have any questions, just ask them now," she said suddenly.
"That's no problem, right?" Arthur didn't ask right away, but asked for confirmation.
Isabel did not answer, but tapped the table, as if beckoning him to speak.
"Well, how much do you know about that man?" Arthur finally asked.
"I don't know his origins, just the things he showed me during his time at school. And the last thing is that he told me that magic really exists. Since he was a very honest man, I think he was telling the truth so I remembered it." Isabel replied.
"Do you have a picture of him?" That was probably about 20 years ago. Camera technology may not have been as advanced as it is now, but it was advanced enough.
Isabel herself has some photos from when she was young and they are all still good today.
"I've never kept a photo of any man," Isabel replied.
"Aren't you even planning on showing Carla what her father looks like?" Arthur smiled wryly at that.
"However, I am confused as to why you used his seed then."
"What's wrong? I just want to have a child, rather than me asking others for sperm, I'd rather use the one already in my hands."
"Ehhmmm!" Arthur couldn't help but clear his throat, surprised by how blatant his aunt was.
When she was the one talking about it, it sounded very strange to his ears.
Now, he wasn't sure what else to ask.
"By the way, don't let Carla know about this," Isabel said again.
"Don't worry, aunt. You can cut out my tongue if any information leaks out." Arthur replied with a joking expression.
It managed to make Isabel smile again.
Unfortunately, her smile didn't last long. It disappeared the moment she saw a White Mercedes Sport, which was Anna's car.
She was clearly still upset with the woman for telling Arthur her secret.
Although Arthur had said that it was an accident, she didn't believe him. According to her; Arthur didn't say it just because there was something that made him uncomfortable.
Probably something embarrassing.
She thought she wouldn't try to find out about it. However, that didn't mean she wouldn't teach Anna a lesson.
Anna got out of the car with Amy who helped carry her bag.
This time, she was wearing a long white off-shoulder dress that was so tight that every curve of her body was clearly visible while around her neck hung a white diamond necklace that occasionally flickered, emitting light.
Her hair was left down, drifting slightly left and right as the wind passed by.
Every man passing by couldn't help but stare at her, thinking about how sexy, charming, and beautiful she was.
However, as she approached the store, the retail associate stopped her from going any further. They asked her to wait there until the store opened.
Anna might have been uncomfortable, but luckily the other guests started arriving after her.
Each one being the elite in Vera City, Anna knew enough of them that she started chatting.
The topic of conversation was of course about the store.
The problem was that this store didn't even explain what it sold.
In other places, if there is this kind of event, the guests at least know what is being sold, whether it's watches, clothes, or jewelry.
Not long after that, William also arrived. And he wasn't alone, there was an old man who came with him.
The old man was a bit chubby, but he was probably used to doing heavy labor in his youth, so his agility still showed through in spite of his body.
William was very respectful to him. He didn't dare to step ahead of the old man.
The few guests who saw him greeted him politely.
