"I can still work online so whenever you want we can go," Amanda replied.
"Let's do it tomorrow morning," Arthur said.
He thought he needed to see Jade first before going on a long journey. Even though his aunt already had strength, dealing with an experienced person was still quite difficult.
"Does not matter." Amanda nodded.
Right after she said that, her cell phone suddenly rang.
When she saw the name of the person calling her, she immediately picked up.
"Amanda, what do you mean by changing the business plan?" Ask the person on the phone.
"Dad, I'll take care of everything, you just wait and see, I guarantee, this will take our company to the next level," Amanda replied.
Arthur wasn't interested in listening to the father and daughter chat, so he stepped back onto the couch.
It's just that, when he sat back down, Amanda's father suddenly said something rather funny.
"By the way, Lin told me that you are together with Isabel's nephew, are you dating him?"
"Dad, what nonsense are you saying?" Amanda immediately raised her voice, like a cat whose tail was stepped on.
"And yesterday you brought a young man to your mansion, I'm sure that was him too," continued Amanda's father.
The woman who still wanted to speak froze with her mouth slightly open. She subconsciously glanced at Arthur.
Of course, she didn't know that Arthur heard her father's voice. She only knew Arthur was a mage, able to create various elements from nothing, but she still didn't know that a mage's ears could compare to those of an elephant.
"Well, like I said before, I won't interfere about the man you choose as long as he has a good reputation. Isabel's nephew should have all the criteria. Only, he's the same age as your sister, even being in the same school, you know, this might cause some trouble. If you really want to be with him, do it more privately, wait until he has at least graduated from university. You may be over 30 by then, but it doesn't matter if you are both old enough."
Amanda, "..."
Her feet moved slightly back as she nearly staggered while her breathing quickened. Not wanting her father to say anything more than that, she ended up hanging up the phone.
"Damn," she said in a low voice before sitting down on the sofa.
However, before she could calm herself down, Arthur suddenly said, "your father sure is good at joking."
"What?" Amanda's eyes widened when she saw Arthur, she seemed to want to stand up again but in the end just pointed at Arthur with her hand.
"Y-you heard that?" she asked, her cheeks turning slightly red.
Arthur didn't answer the obvious question, he answered in other words. "This kind of thing embarrasses you, don't you know that even high school girls can talk about dating casually?"
"You are mocking me?" Amanda's eyes showed annoyance.
"Actually it's not wrong, it's just, it's a bit funny with your personality. Your own sister is much more relaxed. Is this the effect of maintaining a virginity for too long?"
"Arthur." Amanda finally burned with anger, she picked up the pen on the table and threw it at Arthur.
The latter only needed to tilt his head slightly to the side to avoid the pen and he continued to taunt her. "You're not mature in this area," he said.
Amanda probably knew she wasn't going to win the debate, so she opted to call it quits, saying only, "who cares!"
Arthur shook his head, then he took out his phone, which disturbed Amanda again.
"You know, the office is not a place to play on the phone," she said.
"I'm not an employee here and I think our discussion is over for now, so I'm free to do whatever I want as long as it doesn't harm anyone. Of course, you also have the right to kick me out of here." Arthur didn't take his eyes off his phone as he answered.
Of course, he wasn't just playing on the phone. What he did was read the latest news from the Island of Sicily.
Besides some criminal cases, he finds news that Mia, the celebrity he met at Anna's restaurant party, is going there tomorrow to shoot her new movie.
"Arthur..." While he was still reading the news, Amanda called out to him again.
Arthur stared at her without moving his phone from in front of his face and he found her calming down a bit.
As their gazes met, she said, "you're a magus and you have a lot of confidence in yourself, but that doesn't change the fact that before that you were a nolep, mm."
She stopped her words because Arthur raised a hand, signaling her to stop.
"Are you saying I'm a virgin and an inexperienced man?" asked Arthur.
"I bet you're still a virgin," Amanda answered. Saying that made her smile broadly.
Of course, her words were not wrong. Here, Arthur is still a virgin. Only, he was not an inexperienced man. He replied, "not all virgins are cowardly and shy!"
"Lies, you're just hiding your nervousness," Amanda replied in disbelief.
"Sigh, your way of entertaining yourself is too childish." Arthur shook his head. And after saying that, he stood up.
Then, he stepped over to the sofa where Amanda was sitting and sat on her right side.
"You?" The woman finally lost her composure again.
"I know you are baiting me, maybe you are also not aware, indeed women who are fascinated by men often do that." Arthur said that while grabbing Amanda's left hand and hugging her waist before pulling her closer to him. At the same time, his face moved closer to hers, and stopped when they were only about eight centimeters apart.
Amanda, frozen, didn't let out a breath, but Arthur was still breathing calmly. He looked into her eyes which were still but gave the impression they were trembling, a sign that her mind was muddled to a new point.
Both of her hands were currently on top of his thigh and they started gripping the thigh.
Of course, it wasn't a move that could be considered as rejection, it could even be said as acceptance because it was something that would basically encourage him to move closer to her.
Because like that, Arthur was no longer silent, he moved his face a little further forward until his lips met hers.
