After Olivia witnessed what Liam was doing, she purchased a batch of the Black Tarthear Needles as well.
She had asked him about the name of the needles previously but hesitated purchasing them because they were quite expensive.
Of course, their use was extremely high and Olivia was great with all weapons due to her Soultrait, Weaponry, but she could not magically learn how to wield a new weapon like a war veteran just because of her Soultrait. There were still existing limitations to the power of her Soultrait further marred by the physical limits of her body!
She handed a bunch of Black Tarthear needles to Rex, Kian, and the others before she charged forward in an attempt to help out Liam.
However, her attempt failed miserably. Not only was she barely of help but Olivia's life was on the line as well. She was nearly bitten and scratched by dozens of Plagued Monsters when she was trying to fight in a similar way as Liam.
Olivia had been certain that she could take down the monsters and fight as viciously as Liam was capable of, only to fail miserably at throwing multiple needles in a row. It was already torture to retrieve a single needle from the small box of needles, let alone to methodically inject them with bits of Arcane Power before throwing them at their opponents.
The seemingly simple task of getting hold of a bunch of needles at a time turned into the most cumbersome job. It required Olivia's entire focus and restricted her combat prowess drastically.
ραпdα nᴏνɐ| сom The Casket of Trickery was in Liam's possession, and Olivia began to understand why he would buy it. However, she didn't know the name of the small distribution box Liam used and only knew of its existence.
Filled with regret and a bit of sadness, Olivia tried her utmost to kill more Plagued Monsters by throwing the activated Black Tarthear needles at the opponents. She had to share the stash of 500 needles with others and used them up slowly.
Her life was still in danger but the other native kids who had followed Liam had gone over to help as well. The six natives were not as efficient or skilled in the hunt as Liam but that was only obvious. Liam never expected the natives to help him, in the first place.
To his surprise, Felix and the rest had arrived outside as well. Most of them didn't really feel like fighting the Plagued Monsters but they were curious about the situation outside.
Thus, only a few dozen brave natives charged outside with their weapons unsheathed as they prepared themselves to earn a fortune while protecting the gymnasium.
Liam didn't really care whether they joined the battle or not. He continued to fight in his own way by spending a fortune to purchase more Black Tarthear needles and Arcaniua Potions. His eyes began to twitch after he fought for more than ten minutes and it was about time for him to deactivate the active effect of his Devil's Eyes.
There weren't many Plagued Monsters anymore to kill, and those handful of beasts were not focusing on him either. The lifeforce of the dozens of natives attracted the Plagued Monsters' attention, which gave him enough leeway to use stealth to sneak up on them and attack from behind. They had momentarily forgotten about him even though he had killed thousands of them and he did not waste that opportunity.
Liam was not sure how long the battle lasted but he noticed the gazes he attracted once it was over.
Everyone was sweating profusely but a thin smile blossomed on Felix's face as he looked at the five thousand corpses of Plagued Monsters that would have destroyed the entire gymnasium if not for Liam's help.
Liam might have used some deceitful means to defeat the Plagued Monsters but that was the last thing bothering the natives.
"Thank yo—" Felix began before he was cut off by one of the people to his right.
"You stole our prey, you fucking bastard!"
While the voice of the young man in his 20s resounded through the plaza, Liam and his loyal ducklings looked over to figure out who that man was.
Felix had a baffled expression on his face while looking at the young man as well, but he noticed that the young man was not alone.
"Give us what belongs to us, you disgusting e…alien!!" A middle-aged woman screamed all of a sudden before many more curses followed suit.
Liam listened to the curses but he didn't say anything. He ignored them and smiled lightly as the rain finally started to slow down. The heavy downpour turned into a light drizzle before it dispersed slowly.
Liam's smile turned even wider when he realized that the rain had stopped, indicating the completion of his customized mission and he glanced over to see his notifications.
[The Host's Will increased.]
[The Host's Stamina increased.]
[The Host's Agility increased.]
[The Host's Arcane Power increased.]
After he simply ignored all messages about the monsters he slayed and the Arcanium he had obtained from their kills, he was left with less than ten notifications to go through.
The four notifications that piqued his interest were directly related to an increase in his stats. Liam didn't expect his Will, Stamina and Agiltiy to increase once again, let alone his Arcane Power to advance to [E+] all of a sudden.
'Was it the constant use of Arcane Power in the battle?' Liam wondered, making a mental note to further brainstorm on the theory that formed in his mind.
When he was done, Liam averted his focus to the next set of notifications that attracted his interest. Reading through them was enough to make Liam feel a variety of emotions.
[Event Mission 『Obliterate the Plague』has been completed successfully. Congratulations!]
[Reward: Weapon of Choice(Black Steel) can be claimed!]
[316 Arcanium have been rewarded.]
[Customized Gift to the Major Contributor(63.2%) can be claimed!]
He was happy about the rewards he had obtained but he couldn't help but glare at the people who were selfish enough to say that he stole their goods.
"Next time, don't do shit and stay in your fucking safe zone," Liam retorted before quietly adding, "Be happy that I am not interested in getting rid of trash like you guys now that I don't have to protect any of you anymore!"
There was no need for Liam to hold back anymore. He could kill the natives in the blink of an eye.
After all, his customized mission was finally completed as well!!
