The mechanism of the Potion Belt was pretty simple. It could store potions neatly by decreasing the size of the vials to the bare minimum. By pressing on the respective button, the desired potion would be retrieved and enlarged to its original size.
It was similar to a storage device, just that it was cheaper since it could only store potions, six specific types, and at most 30 of each type.
pαпᵈα-noνɐ1·сoМ Purchasing a small storage device was already extremely expensive for Liam as most of his fortune would have been deducted just to get his hands on a storage device with a capacity of five cubic meters. That was certainly not worth it, especially as he could make use of the Small Shop to exhibit items for an exorbitantly high price if he wanted to store them!
It was a loophole he could make use of, and Liam was more than willing to abuse every existing loophole as long as it meant that he could earn a fortune from it!
[Aranium: 932.1]
Even with less than a thousand Arcanium in his pockets, Liam could still purchase lots of things. However, instead of making things complicated, he invested as much as possible into his Lesser Relic to increase its rank.
[915.9 Arcanium have been deducted to increase the rank of the Lesser Relic 『Arcane Kunai』!]
[『Circleless G- Rank』➔『Circleless D+ Rank』]
[『Arcane Kunai』-Lesser Relic/Circleless D+ Rank-
Description: The Arcane Kunai is a weapon with many unique properties. It was forged in the maw of a dying Drake using the Essence of a Blackleara Swordfish. It can be bound to one Source of Arcane Power which can precisely control the Relic in a range of 25 meters as long as enough Arcane Power has been provided.
Remark: The Lesser Relic can be upgraded up to the 「1st Circle D Rank」using Arcanium.
Remark 2: The longer the distance of the user from the Relic, the higher the Arcane Power consumption upon usage!]
The Arcane Kunai was mantled in a white cocoon upon upgrading. It woke up the others who stared at the bright cocoon in confusion. When the light dimmed down, dawn dawned upon them.
Liam grasped the Arcane Kunai and he inserted more Arcanium inside the Relic to fill it to the brim. Afterward, he tested a few maneuvers by throwing it into the air, willing it to come to a halt and accelerate all of a sudden.
Only after he got to know how much of a difference the increased consumption caused did he purchase a leather scabbard to safely store the Arcane Kunai. He fastened it to his belt behind his back where he could reach it easily and where it could move in all directions on its own when Liam desired it to move.
The Arcane Kunai was certainly a great Relic as long as it was used properly. Liam had hardly used Kunais in fights before but it was perfectly balanced, greatly honed, and controlling it with his will was rather easy, even though his Will stat was the lowest.
'It has not yet awoken its sentience but it can feel what I want, what an interesting Relic!' Liam thought to himself with a small smile on his face.
Once he was done, Liam purchased a new set of clothes, precisely combat suits that didn't restrict him while fighting and simultaneously provided a little bit of protection from claws and projectiles.
This left Liam with less than five Arcanium which he didn't spend since he didn't think there was a reason to spend that money. In the worst case, he could consider the Arcanium his savings for emergencies.
The others averted their gaze from him when he changed into the combat suit. Some took a few glances and noticed right away that his entire body was riddled with scars. Liam was pretty sure that he had gotten more scars in the past, but he might be mistaken since he lost count of them a long time ago.
When he was ready, he noticed that the others were staring at him once again. Their expressions were hard to read, so Liam didn't even try.
"What? Are you guys scared now?" He asked instead. Even though he had been in possession of more than 2000 Arcanium, they had been used up extremely fast. Liam didn't even think about giving the others some of his Arcanium, but that was only obvious. Even if he didn't intend to kill them, they were on their own. Otherwise, they would start to rely on him instead of themselves.
They had to learn that they were responsible for their own lives and that they couldn't trust anyone as much as they could trust themselves!
Everyone was responsible for themselves, and the best Liam could do to help out was to become the strongest and reduce the other's burden a little.
He got up from the ground and stretched his body a little. He then transformed his hands into claws and back to their usual shape to see how quickly he could transform them, which was how he noticed that his claws were a little longer than before.
This was a pleasant surprise that caused him to pierce into the ground to test his claw's endurance and sharpness. There was no hesitation in his movement and he pierced through the solid rooftop without much difficulty.
Rex stared at Liam with his mouth wide open and a single word escaped his mouth, "Damn."
Liam ignored Rex as he looked over to Olivia and Ludwig who had been training for a while now. Ludwig didn't seem as skinny as before but that may be reasoned by the way he looked with dry clothes not soaked like a rug. He was trying to use his Arcane Power with great precision and he injected it inside the Black Steel Halbert, which he had picked as his Weapon of Choice.
Liam was not sure if Ludwig made the right choice, at first, but upon seeing how much Arcane Power he injected into the Halbert to decrease its weight he couldn't help but look at Ludwig in a new light.
'Is his Soultrait related to Arcane Power, or is his talent for Arcane Power just great?' He wondered before he averted his attention to the edge of the rooftop where Jennie was looking down.
"Where are we going now?" Jennie asked upon noticing Liam's gaze. She seemed to be worried about going down, and Liam quickly identified the reason.
Monsters could be seen roaming everywhere. Some were fighting, while others were merely observing their surroundings. And then there were a few humans trying to run for their lives.
"We're going to leave the Valley!" Liam announced.
Everyone's attention was pulled over to him when he said that.
"Weren't we going to stay somewhere close to clear the area and expand our territory slowly?" Kian asked in a confused voice as he didn't understand what Liam was planning to do.
However, Liam just smiled in return.
"If you want to play hero, you are definitely on the wrong team with me. I don't give a shit," He said, "I want to conquer my sister's underground tower!"
"Your sister…as in—..." Rex was stopped abruptly before he could finish his sentence.
"As in annoying, bratty, bossy and violent…Yep, that's my little sister." Liam interrupted.
"Ah…yeah, I know what you mean!"
