Rise Online: Return of the Legendary Player
Chapter 725 Overwhelming Power
Delgron's new shape and appearance was undeniably slender. His white skin looked as smooth as a porcelain vase, and his eyes as cold as the power contained in the Ragnarok Sword.
"I didn't want to show my most beautiful form to this rabble that accompanies you, Kaizen, but you forced me to." He said and his eyes showed how sincere he was being, because they looked at everyone with contempt. "Then I'll have to kill you all, after all, my beauty is such that it's a grave sin for ugly, weak people like you to be gazing at it. Get ready, because I won't be sorry."
As he said this, he bent his knees and raised both fists to his chest.
Kaizen's eyes widened in confusion, 'Isn't he a mage? Why does he look like he's preparing for a physical fight?
Kaizen's train of thought couldn't even be completed, because in a split second Delgron appeared in front of him, as if able to teleport, and the shadow of his left fist blackened Kaizen's face.
"You're the most annoying of everyone here, so I'll start with you!" Delgron said and struck Kaizen.
lightsΝοvel The pressure created by the demon's punch was intense and created a gale of wind so strong around them that it shattered several buildings that had miraculously stood up to the battle, knocking down several archers and mages who were standing on top of those buildings.
Luckily, Kaizen managed to raise the King's Sword in time to protect himself from the attack. Even so, it wasn't a complete defense, as he was thrown backwards and when he pulled the sword away from his face, his arms shaking, his eyes instinctively turned to the top left corner of his field of vision to see his life bar. To his shock, even though he had defended the attack, 1/3 of his life bar had been taken by the demon's attack.
'Anyway, that's the strength of a monster of the level of an Evolved...'
It was the first time in a long time that during a battle against a monster Kaizen doubted whether he could even beat a force so much greater than his own.
'Obviously, because it's a game, the odds are never zero and Rise Online isn't a realistic game, but one more punch like that and I'll be in trouble.'
Against something with such monstrous strength, Kaizen would only stand a chance if he became an Evolved, but there were still five levels left to level two hundred and there was no way he could get over four hundred thousand experience just like that. So Kaizen had to give it his all to defeat a creature that was at a complete power advantage.
And to make matters worse, the fact that he had resisted a punch from Delgron only made the demon angrier.
"Urgh! You're still standing... Looks like I'm going to have to take this a bit more seriously." Delgron grunted and again ran towards Kaizen.
As the player was paying attention this time, he was able to see Delgron's movement, but as the difference in speed was absurd, even though he could see Delgron's movements, he couldn't react completely. It felt like there were chains holding his feet and hands in the same place and only with a lot of effort did he manage to raise his sword to defend himself again.
However, unlike the other times Kaizen had been in trouble against an enemy much stronger than himself, now he wasn't alone.
When Delgron appeared in front of Kaizen with his right fist about to punch him, Xisrith, with her red katana, stepped out of Kaizen's shadow and, with her eyes filled with rage, she made a thrusting motion with her sword, aiming for the left side of the demon's chest.
The move surprised Kaizen and Delgron at the same time, and the demon had to choose between attacking or being hit by the sword.
Demons had more than one heart and it would be fine if he lost one, but Delgron's pride was even greater than his strength, so he dodged and the descendragon's sword passed through the air. The moment Delgron dodged, the air around them seemed to crackle with electricity.
Xisrith quickly retreated too, keeping his guard up with his eyes fixed on Delgron. The demon let out a guttural growl, his mouth contorted into a contemptuous smile.
"Oh, you two want to play?" Delgron sneered. His eyes flashed with anger.
The battlefield around them was in turmoil. The surrounding buildings were in ruins, rubble scattered everywhere. Most of the archers and mages who had once stood on the tops of the buildings were now out of position, trying to recover from the impact of the gale of wind created by Delgron's punch, and most of the remaining warriors were either totally exhausted or paralyzed with fear.
Kaizen, realizing that he had nowhere to run and that he would only have Xisrith's support, decided to charge forward to buy time for the others, because even if he died and the other players managed to recover, there was still a chance. His steps were undeniably fast and his eyes fixed on the demon, trying to detect any gaps.
Xisrith, for her part, started running a little behind Kaizen. Her responsibility was to cover Kaizen and try to take advantage of the opportunities he created, because in a direct battle against Delgron, she didn't stand a chance.
Delgron growled when he saw them running towards him. In this way, he also advanced towards Kaizen with surprising speed again, but unlike before, he reached out and tried to launch a blast of dark energy. Obviously, Kaizen anticipated the attack and deftly deflected it, but that was exactly what Delgron wanted him to do, because when Kaizen's attention was directed towards the blast, Delgron took advantage of this and disappeared from his opponent's field of vision.
Kaizen was confused when Delgron disappeared, but then he heard Xisrith shout:
"Kaizen, on you!"
