213 The path is full of dangers
"What are you saying, Roman?" Isaac shook his head. "It is impossible for her to travel to that place all on her own!"
"First of all, she needs to know how to, the direction-"
Roman interrupted him, "She has the map."
"What? Who the heck gave her a map!" Isaac snarled.
"Alright, even if she has the map, it is not easy to reach that place. The path is full of dangers. She would be forced to stop long before she even reached there."
Growl. Roman turned to look at him in anger when Isaac realized what he had spoken wrong.
"Of course, we wouldn't want that also. We want her to be safe without facing any hardships. I get it. I get it." He raised his hands with a sigh.
"I agree with everything you are saying, but please tell me you are not planning to follow her just like this?"
Without answering him, Roman stared ahead with a determined expression.
"Come on! Lord Roman, you cannot do this! Even the old patriarch returned from the trip with injuries! Grave injuries that are still threatening his very life! How could you possibly go there?"
"Even if I am with you, our strength is not nearly enough." He tried talking sense into the man.
But the other party did not look like he was going to budge any time soon.
Without continuing the argument, Roman resumed his movements, the elegant slender body of the feral wolf flashing forward.
"I took her back once before from those human filth. I will once again bring her back safely." He growled and sped into the thick forests.
Meanwhile... in other parts of the same forest...
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Several balls of fire flew forward, targeting a group of rabid rock vultures.
These birds had appeared out of nowhere, and before Sylvia could react, they started attacking her and the wolf from all directions.
However, all they got was that first minute of head start. After that, once Sylvia regained her balance they were no longer able to keep their upper hand.
She elegantly spun the mana in the air and sent out dazzling balls of flame that made the birds scatter.
Sylvia originally planned to leave at that, but the rock vultures seemed relentless. They kept coming back again and again and attacked both her and the wolf in a frenzy.
It was clear that only one of them could get out of this alive.
Sylvia did not hold back after that and scorched the entire flock. The fourteen birds dropped to the ground one after the other, dead and lifeless.
"Do you want to stop for a quick break, wolfie?"
Growl! The black wolf snarled and then elegantly glided down to land on the forest grounds.
Sylvia hopped off the beast and walked over to one of the big vultures. "This should work, right?" She flipped the bird to see if there was something that was salvageable.
She had never hunted in the wild like this, but she did not have anything else to eat at the moment.
She quickly broke off a cleanly charred piece from the breast. The insides were still juicy and looked edible, and since the outside was charred, it looked somewhat clean.
She did not want to spend much time doing this so she found a couple more pieces like this and bleeding from those places and clearly in pain.
tossed a couple to the wolf. "We have to make do with this wolfie."
She then roasted her portion, further bringing the rest of the meat to a cooked consistency. She then tore into the piece hurriedly as her stomach was growling in hunger.
They had traveled for six hours now and throughout the entire time, they had been constantly attacked by one beast or the other.
Even though they were flying to the destination, there still seemed to be no lack of flying beasts or birds.
Thankfully Sylvia had her magic. Otherwise, it would have been impossible for her to make this trip in the first place.
After facing the diverse opponents and fighting with magic so many times, she could even feel herself improving as she was now doing everything more fluently.
However, despite that, using so much magic still made her a little tired and a lot hungry. It also clearly had a mental toll on her.
Sylvia closed her eyes and tried to savor the delicious meat while resting against the black wolf's soft fur.
She had barely had two moments of peace and shut-eye when the next unwelcome creature greeted her.
A loud hissing sound sneaked from behind her, and when she quickly turned around, she saw a giant python towering over her.
"Get BACK!" Sylvia shouted, her slender figure landing in front of the wolf to protect the beast. This python in front of them was unlike anything else they had faced until now.
Her instincts screamed at her that she was in real danger this time around, and she listened to them.
BANG. BANG. BANG. BANG.
Sylvia used the same fireballs that she used previously as both she and the wolf moved several paces back.
She thought that this could buy them enough time to shoot up and get to the sky where the python couldn't follow them.
Because they were in a hurry, instead of the wolf carrying her. She grabbed the wolf and sliced through the air until they were at a safe distance.
However, when she looked down, the giant green python was once again right in front of her. On its back were two spectral wings that seemingly gave it the ability to fly.
On top of that, the python was now injured in the few places where the fireballs had struck it. It was bleeding from those places and clearly in pain.
Its yellow evil eyes glared at her in anger and hatred, and without giving Sylvia a chance to attack again, it opened its mouth.
HISSSS!
A burst of poisonous toxic purple air erupted forming a huge death cloud around the three of them.
