Soul Land 3: Legend Of The Dragon King
Chapter 1893: Godly Strike, Planar JudgmentChapter 1893: Godly Strike, Planar Judgment
He couldn’t have asked for better circumstances to conduct this experiment in.
As Guan Yue ignited his battle armor and his core essence, crushing grief welled up in the hearts of all of the Battle Gods.
Guan Yue had already told them that he would be doing this someday, and he had instructed them to remember everything that happened to him. He had also made a detailed record of his method and plan and left that to the Battle God Hall; it was going to be the most valuable piece of the legacy that he left behind for the Battle God Hall.
He was already at quite an advanced age, and there was no way he would be able to survive after igniting his power like this, but he was able to calmly face his own imminent death.
Only now, after he had truly reached the godly level was he able to fully experience the power of that level, which had eluded him throughout all of his years of cultivation.
He couldn’t help but heave an awestruck sigh.
It was no wonder that all Limit Douluos were pursuing this breakthrough; he now had the right to say that this was indeed a worthy pursuit.
In the instant that he made his breakthrough, it was as if the entire world had opened up to him, and infinite possibilities had arisen. If a Limit Douluo could control the power of this world, then he had now risen beyond the restraints of this world.
For the first time, he could sense the call of the universe and what lied beyond this world.
This was a feeling of omniscience and omnipotence.
It was no wonder that Demon Sovereign was looking down on everyone following her breakthrough; her arrogance stemmed from this exact same feeling.
Was this what it felt like to be a god?
As he experienced all of this, Guan Yue unleashed his first ever spear strike as a god. The power of this world was kept out, and the power of the universe was imbued into his spear.
The planar core that was hurled through the air by the Black Sovereign reached him in this very instant, but it was facing the Sky Crossing Divine Spear, which was now imbued with otherworldly power.
The two clashed, and everything suddenly stood still for an instant.
Immediately thereafter, the Black Sovereign’s planar core remained still in mid-air, but the Sky Crossing Divine Spear was releasing scintillating radiance.
In the Black Sovereign’s eyes, it was as if Guan Yue had expanded infinitely in size, and he was passing judgment down upon her and the entire Black Empress Race.
This was a godly strike, and it was powerful enough to judge an entire plane!
In the next instant, the planar core was devoured by the blinding radiance and completely disappeared. Having lost her planar core, the Black Sovereign’s body also began to disintegrate; there wasn’t even any abyssal energy escaping out of her disintegrating body.
Violent tremors rang through the earth, and cracks began to appear on the recently sealed opening of the abyssal passageway. Even the human army could clearly sense the grief of the abyssal plane.
An abyssal sovereign had just fallen, and with her, the eighth abyssal level had been destroyed.
Even though the tremors weren’t quite as violent as the ones that had resulted from the second abyssal level, it still felt as if the entire world were trembling.
Guan Yue was hovering in mid-air in silence, seemingly still reminiscing about everything that had just happened. The fall of the Black Sovereign had a great impact on the entire battlefield and dealt all of the powerful abyssal beings an extremely heavy blow.
Even more importantly, a true god had appeared on the human side as well!
All of a sudden, the abyssal camp was being completely dominated by the Battle Gods.
Right at this moment, Guan Yue heaved a faint sight, and he slowly turned around to give the Rising Sun Heavenly Zither a meaningful glance and a nod, then cast his gaze toward Tang Wulin, who was standing at the very forefront of the human army.
Their eyes met, and a sense of foreboding welled up in Tang Wulin’s heart as he reflexively clenched his fists.
Guan Yue smiled as he looked up at the sight, and even though he was appraising the heavens, it was as if he were also surveying the earth. In the next instant, he suddenly turned around and hurled his Sky Crossing Divine Spear through the air.
The spear was glowing with dazzling radiance as it vanished into thin air, while projections began to appear around Guan Yue’s body.
“My life wasn’t spectacular, but it was peaceful; it wasn’t exciting, but it was fulfilling. The heavens have blessed me and allowed me to reach this level, and even though it’s only for an instant, I am more than satisfied. This instant of glory will cost me my life, but I’ve recorded everything for the future generations to review, and I have no regrets!”
As his words echoed through the heavens, Guan Yue’s body abruptly exploded into dazzling starlight in all directions, thus spelling the conclusion to the life of a god, even though he was only a god for a moment.
In the instant that his body exploded, the Sky Crossing Divine Spear reappeared in mid-air; it was as if the spear had pierced through space and appeared directly in front of the Demonic Sovereign!
This was the final attack unleashed by a true god! The Demonic Sovereign was undoubtedly extremely powerful, but he still wasn’t a god, and he found himself unable to evade the spear strike.
The scintillating spear instantly pierced through his body, and all of his life force was stripped away.
A massive plume of abyssal energy erupted forth, while the Sky Crossing Divine Spear circled through the air in a beautiful arc before arriving in front of Tang Wulin, where it rested in mid-air.
Guan Yue’s final wish was for his Sky Crossing Divine Spear, which was now a true divine weapon, to go to Tang Wulin.
All of this had happened far too quickly, and no one had expected Guan Yue to make such a decision. He had sacrificed himself in order to attain a moment of godhood, during which he slew both the Black Sovereign and the Demonic Sovereign. Through his own power, he had cemented the victory for the human camp.
All of the Battle Gods roared with grief as their faces turned bright red.
They were all aware of just how massive Guan Yue’s contribution to the Battle God Hall had been. If it hadn’t been for him and Chen Xinjie, there was no way that the Battle God Hall would be ranked alongside the other super organizations in the Douluo Federation. They all knew why Guan Yue had chosen to sacrifice himself at this time: it was so that more of the other Battle Gods could survive!
Otherwise, if they had fought the abyssal camp through conventional means, even if they could come out on top, there most likely wouldn’t be many of them left standing.
Through his own power alone, Guan Yue had killed the Black Sovereign and the Demonic Sovereign, giving the abyssal camp no chance at making a comeback.
He had planned all of this well in advance, and he had chosen to sacrifice his own life so that the other Battle Gods could live. He had given his entire life to the Battle God Hall.
The seven strings of the Rising Sun Heavenly Zither were strummed in unison, and the entire sky warped violently as the zither began to radiate scintillating light, as if it were a second scorching sun hanging in the sky.
All of the powerful abyssal beings were scorched by the intense heat, while the Battle Gods seemed to have gone insane, charging forward recklessly without any regard for defense or self-preservation.
The momentum had completely shifted, and the Battle Gods were like a pride of starving lions tearing through a flock of hapless sheep.
The Hornet Sovereign’s compound eyes flashed incessantly as countless streaks of blue light rose up around her, among which 12 of the streaks of blue light were most eye-catching. In the distance, the 12 Hornet Kings exploded in unison, disintegrating into energy that flowed into the Hornet Sovereign’s body. The 12 streaks of blue light shot forth to clash with the fearsome attacks unleashed by the Rising Sun Heavenly Zither, while the Hornet Sovereign herself flapped her wings and retreated as quickly as she could without any hesitation.
It was apparent to her that the Rising Sun Heavenly Zither could only unleash such a formidable assault once before it would be completely spent, and she had to weather this storm for a chance to turn the tables.
Right at this moment, the Demonic Sovereign, which had just been slain by Guan Yue, suddenly emerged out of thin air. Its aura was significantly weakened, and one of its eyes had been blinded, but it had survived that attack of the godly level.
