After they left the treasury, Nitran brought them into a large hall that was overflowing with mana.
The sheer mana density swept over Kyle, preventing him from moving even a muscle.
Only after the Undeads around him used their own mana to prevent the mana inside the room from restricting Kyle was he finally able to move again.
Through this, Kyle was able to take a look at the large hall and perceive everything that had previously been hidden from his eyes.
While calmly looking around, he felt that the surroundings were somewhat ominous and eerie.
But, that was not something Kyle had been unable to perceive before.
Rather, it was evident because the entire hall was enveloped in dark colors, and everything was intertwined with a distinct death aura.
This death aura was denser than anything he had seen before, and it was already manifesting all around him, taking on a dark color.
Yet at the same time, it was subtle and inconspicuous.
If not for his Nurture ability, it would be almost impossible for Kyle to perceive.
If the mana inside the room were to be still around him, he wouldn't have noticed it and it's influence, at all!
This was fearsome, and the culprit behind all of this was a dark purple-colored heart.
It was floating in the air, right in the center of the room at the height of Kyle's shoulders.
It was the Undead heart that had numerous tiny runes engraved on it.
These runes were connected with each other forming a pattern that looked like it had veins.
The Undead heart was pulsating faintly and with each subsequent beat, the death aura and surrounding mana began to vibrate wildly.
At the same time, it looked like the mana and death aura was being nourished through the pulse of the Undead Heart. Everything felt much more vibrant and lively the moment the pulse swept through the entire hall.
Kyle was even able to hear it which was oddly calming.
Mesmerized by the Undead heart, he kept watching it for a while and he momentarily lost track of time.
Only after a few minutes did he regain his senses as one of the large doors creaked.
It was directly opposite to the door from which they had entered and it opened to reveal a bunch of silhouettes.
At that moment, Kyle first realized that Beatrice, who could be considered an anomaly, and the five Undeads were the current owners of the Razkadan castle.
As he watched in a daze, many more followed them.
Numerous Undead beings entered the hall in a disciplined manner, before halting a few meters in front of the Undead heart.
Their soul flames were flaring up in excitement at the sight of the Undead heart that was extremely close to them. But Kyle noticed that they seemed to be unable to move any further.
He was simply staring at the numerous Undeads, who had formed neat rows that continued even outside the hall, well beyond what his eyes allowed him to see.
The sight was so baffling to him that he didn't even notice that Nitran had handed over the Scythe he had been holding for the whole time.
It was heavy but Kyle's eyes were focused on the Undeads of all kinds of ranks right from the Initial Fortification stage to the Ascerta stage!
At least that was what he assumed the strongest non-sentient Undeads' cultivation base to be.
He was simply unable to clearly determine it as it was the case with Beatrice and the Undead powerhouses.
Only when Nitran spoke to him did Kyle notice that he was daydreaming and felt a heavy weight drag his arms to the ground.
"I will lend you the Ruby Soul Scythe until you devour the soul of enough Undeads. With the Ruby Soul Scythe it's easier to extract the souls of beings, so you won't have any problems devouring them.
It's difficult to explain but the soul will be catalyzed through the Scythe and you can transfer the soul in portions to your body, okay?"
Kyle just nodded his head, while trying to lift the Scythe that seemed to weigh way more than 100 kilograms.
Breathing heavily, he approached the Undead heart and walked past it as he stared at the four rows of Undeads. Each row represented one cultivation stage and had beings belonging to the same stage.
As he curled his fingers around the Ruby Soul Scythe's handle, Kyle noticed that the weapon was reluctant to become his tool to kill.
Yet, having been ordered to support the young, living being, there was nothing the semi-sentient weapon could do other than obey.
That being said, it released its bloodlust that began to manifest in a bloody hue.
This bloodlust enveloped Kyle tightly, enhancing his physical strength exponentially.
This shocked Kyle, who was unable to shake off the bloodlust that clung to him like a second layer of skin
First, he was scared and wanted to get rid of it.
But, that thought disappeared when he felt his body become lighter, while his strength seemed to increase.
At the same time, circulating soul force through his body became much easier.
This caused Kyle to wonder what exactly bloodlust was, and if he was even interpreting the bloodlust correctly.
It might be something completely different than what he had assumed such as the Ruby Soul Scythe.
The Scythe he was holding in his hand seemed to be sentient and had let go of its initial reluctance.
Now, it was actively supporting him in every single movement.
This was frightening because for the first time he felt the conscience of something different than Arashi lightly scratching his mind.
It was gently trying to enter his conscience and build up a connection that would make everything even easier.
Yet, rather than accepting this, Kyle rejected the Scythe's conscience, which didn't seem to bother the weapon much.
Instead, it simply enhanced his strength with the bloodlust, or whatever it was which it had used to envelop him before turning quiet.
While Beatrice and the others hadn't specifically told Kyle what he was supposed to do, they thought that he was just following his primal instincts, and doing everything that felt correct to him.
Thus, they did the same and surrounded the Undead heart while holding each other's hand to form a chain.
They left a small gap open for Kyle to walk in and join them.
According to their understanding, this should be enough space for him to nurture and thereby destroy the Undead heart.
However, despite their confidence in Kyle, they were equally worried that something might go wrong.
Nonetheless, they had given their best, and if something would go wrong even after everything they did, it was their fate.
By accepting this, the Undeads and Beatrice could remain calm enough to see how Kyle brandished the Ruby Soul Scythe. It shattered the Undead Core of two Skeletons that had been ordered to expose their core for Kyle to destroy it, just like every other Undead.
Contrary to Kyle's usual experience, the souls of the Undeads he killed didn't detach from the Undead core. Instead, they were immediately transferred to the Scythe that continued to lead the souls towards Kyle according to his will.
While perceiving everything the Ruby Soul Scythe did directly, Kyle couldn't help but nod his head in satisfaction.
'That is pretty handy and extremely useful…I might have gotten my hands on the Soul storage, but if I were to be able to forge a weapon like the Ruby Soul Scythe, my hunts would become much easier.
Furthermore, I wouldn't have to waste time trying to grasp the souls of the deceased before they flew away from my reach. All in all, it would save me from lots of trouble!'
With that in mind, he turned around and used the soul particles to empower the Nurture ability.
These were the same particles that were released inside his body the moment the souls of the deceased came in touch with him.
After that, he approached the Undead Heart with brightly gleaming emerald eyes as he lifted his hand.
"This is just a test to see if everything is working according to what you guys have planned!"
Saying so, his hand further approached the Undead heart, and he almost touched it, only to unleash the energy of two deteriorated souls of beings at the Initial Fortification stage.
His hand began to glow faintly only to dim at a rapid pace as the vigorising energy was transferred to the Undead heart.
In response to his touch, the Undead heart emitted a strong pulse that created a Shockwave, which swept through the entire room.
It was terrifically strong and made the Undeads and Beatrice groan out in pain.
This made Kyle stop in his tracks as he hadn't felt anything but the pained cries startled him.
Seeing his confusion, Nitran explained to him what exactly they had felt.
"The Undead Heart's reaction is quite severe. Our souls feel like we are getting pulled apart but it's still fine. We will be able to endure it!
But….if possible make larger shots, so that the counterreaction of the Undead heart won't affect us numerous times!"
Even though Nitran tried to sound confident, his expressions betrayed him.
It was as if he was unbothered by the pain caused by the Undead heart's reaction, but Kyle sensed that he was just trying to make him feel at ease.
As such, given the Undeads' and Beatrice's reaction, Kyle knew that he couldn't directly nurture the Undead heart, but that he had to do something else first.
'I can nurture the seals Beatrice and the others have on the Undead heart. If I nurture the hues that represent their seals on the Undead heart, will that work?
Would it strengthen the seal, or weaken it owing to the repulsive energy the Nurture ability has on the Undeads?'
His mind was buzzing with thoughts as he was trying to figure a solution that wouldn't tear apart the Undeads' and Beatrice's soul.
Wanting to test something, he used a tiny trace of his soul force to empower the Nurture ability.
With that, he brushed past Beatrice, who stood next to him, before releasing the Nurture ability's energy.
This caused the Vampire to flinch, but a moment later she sighed in relief.
"Do you feel that the seal has loosened a little?" Kyle asked Beatrice which made the Undeads notice that Kyle had tried something.
And, hearing Beatrice's response made them perk up.
"I think the seal has loosened up a little bit, but there was a sting that felt a little bit weird."
Nodding his head in response, Kyle was satisfied with the answer.
It made him change his approach towards the entire situation.
Now, he divided his plan into phases.
The first phase included nurturing the seals of the Undeads and Beatrice until they would barely hang on by a thread while holding together the Undead heart.
This would prevent it from exploding to pieces due to an irregular unsealment procedure.
After this, he would nurture the Undead heart.
Meanwhile, the second and final phase of his plan was the finishing blow that was in fact a simple matter of completing the unsealment process.
Simultaneously, he would finish the final nurturing session of the Undead heart at the exact same time.
This was what Kyle planned to do, and even if it sounded complicated, he had to give it a try.
With that in mind, he started with killing all kinds of Undeads with the help of the Ruby Soul Scythe.
The Reaper's weapon helped him easily devour their souls, and use them in order to empower his Nurture ability.
Once he had accumulated enough energy in his Nurture ability, he would start nurturing the Undead heart's hues that represented the seals the others had put on it.
Then, once in a while, he would shoot an entire charge of his Nurture ability to the Undead heart, creating a repulsive reaction.
While the repulsive reaction was underway, the Undead heart began to transform in an almost untraceable manner.
It began to release dense death energy which the Undead powerhouses absorbed in order to regain their strength.
Other than that, the Undead heart's color seemed to change lightly as something in the depths of the Undead heart seemed to awaken.
However, nobody noticed this, and several hours of arduous work passed without much of a visible effect.
It was only then that Kyle gave killing undeads at the Krysal stage a try.
Emboldened by his previous kills, he hoped it would be possible to kill even stronger undeads with the help of the Ruby Soul Scythe.
Given the fact that the Undeads were intentionally revealing their Undead core and vital spots in order to make everything easier for Kyle, there was not much of a problem.
Additionally, the razor-sharp blade of the Scythe made killing the Undeads at the Krysal stage look like child's play.
This made everything much easier, and it was only a day later that the moment, Beatrice and the Undead powerhouses had awaited for 50,000 years, finally arrived!
The moment the Undead heart burst apart, a white glowing light was revealed.
Simultaneously, the seal on the Undeads and Beatrice had finally been broken, freeing them from their imprisonment.
