Zayn's theory was that Manager Tilan ordered the Chimera's combat power to be restored.
It had yet to be fully restored, but it was powerful enough to threaten most Soul Knights, even those with strong Blessings. Zayn was even more in danger, but he didn't think that this was much of a problem.
In fact, the stronger the Chimera was, the higher the soul particles in its body, and the stronger its lifeforce. Against anyone else, it would be disastrous that the Chimera regained most of its combat prowess. However, against Zayn that was not the case.
He was still in danger, but the Dragontale Twin Sabers would be the key to his survival.
It was not only the Dragontale Twin Sabers that would ensure his life and make sure that he would be able to kill the Chimera. The Spirits that were tightly secured inside his Grimoire of the Ancient, and the Soul Guidance technique would allow him to survive, and display enough strength to overpower the Chimera.
He took a deep breath as the Chimera turned around from its charge to pounce at him once again. The distance between them was close to fifty meters right now. No mist shrouded the area around Zayn as he moved the Dragontale Twin Sabers to the side of his body.
Using the Soul Guidance technique, he accessed the Grimoire of the Ancient, precisely the emblems of his Spirits on the empty pages in the Grimoire of the Ancient.
He drained his Spirits, except the Sparrow Spirits, of their accumulated soul particles and unleashed it outside the Grimoire of the Ancient, straight into his body.
Zayn spit out blood the moment the accumulated soul particles of six Spirits entered his body. A churning heat was ignited in the depth of his body and it began to spread out as he circulated the massive amount of soul particles through his entire body.
A Lesser version of the Spirit Empowerment...that was something Zayn, or rather his past self had used in order to strengthen himself with the use of his Spirits' soul particles. It was one way in which he used his Spirits, as storage for soul particles.
Zayn's body felt like bursting apart. His skin ruptured and blood oozed out from every corner of his body. However, Zayn could only smile as he felt the tremendous power that surged through him.
He used close to half of the soul particles he had unleashed inside his body to inject them into the Dragontale Twin Sabers. They exuded a chilling air in response and began to hum brightly.
Brightly shining Soulblades formed around the two Dragontale Twin Sabers that had begun to decrease the temperature in the proximity drastically.
With enough soul particles injected into the Dragontale Twin Sabers, their true powers were unleashed. Icicles seemed to grow out of the azure blades that were mantled in a golden membrane.
It looked almost as if the blade was transforming, evolving into something much stronger. Zayn's hands felt freezing, and as if they would fall off at any moment.
However, Zayn ignored that, just like the fact that his right arm was fractured and that his skin had ruptured, blood oozing out of him. It didn't even matter that he looked like he was about to bleed to death.
Everything that mattered was the Chimera charging at him and the slash he issued with the right Dragontale Twin Saber when the Chimera was still more than five meters away from reaching his saber's range.
Zayn used the entire strength in his right arm to slash at the ground in front of the Chimera. The entire storage of soul particles was drained in an instant and the Soulblade around the right Dragontale Twin Saber was unleashed as well as an azure crescent-blade materialized and shot out of the blade.
The azure crescent blade was framed gold and it impacted on the ground right in front of the Chimera. A domain of ice was formed as ice shot out of the ground like tidal waves. The area in front of hte azure crescent blade that had been released from Zayn froze, just like everything else that was in contact with the ground. Huge spikes of ice shot out of the ground, piercing through the flesh of the Chimera while its front and hint legs were frozen to the ground.
The moment the Chimera's legs were frozen and the spikes pierced into the Chimera, the corners of Zayn's curled upward.
He had to grit his teeth to endure the aftermath of the attack he had just issued but that was something he could endure.
His fractured arm broke and he could barely muster the strength and pain tolerance to sheat the right Dragontale Twin Saber before the right arm hung loosely down his shoulder. The right arm was purple and blue and his hand and wrist were actually azure and unmoving, looking like they had been frozen completely.
Zayn was not sure how difficult it was to heal his right arm, but that was something he could worry about in the future.
For now, he had to watch the Dragontale Twin Sabers' true freezing trait freeze the lifeforce and soul particles in the body of the being that had been caught in the bane of the frozen curse.
The area around the wounds the Chimera sustained froze and the freezing continue to spread through the Chimera that had been forcefully halted in its tracks with Zayn's attack.
The Lizard-head used its acid to corrode the frozen ground while the Goat-head used its flame to warm its body and thaw its frozen legs.
The Lion-head roared out and stared threateningly at Zayn while releasing the thick mist to cover its body in an attempt to restrict the bane of the frozen curse to spread further.
However, that was something Zayn couldn't care less about. He dashed forward with an acceleration that rivaled the speed not even the Chimera could attain.
In order to attain this kind of acceleration, Zayn ended up sacrificing his health. He knew that his body could hardly handle the power he had attained at this moment.
But none of that was important as long as he could complete his mission.
He appeared on the side of the Chimera's goat-head and slashed out with his left.
A moment later, the first head rolled over the ground.
