While fixing my uniform, I entered the student dormitory.

The dormitory was located not too far from the Academy building and I reached it quickly.

It was nothing special, just a large rectangular-shaped house, constructed from ivory oak wood.

From the outside, it looked a little run down, and it was not much better inside.

If not for the care of the students using the dormitory, the house would be in a worse condition than it was right now.

However, being allowed to live in the dormitory for free was more than enough for the poor students who diligently helped with the maintenance and chores.

I helped out as well, though I was usually given easy tasks where nobody had to be near me.

I did not fret about it because everyone treated me in a similar way. They avoided me or looked at me in disgust, almost as if I was the origin of all existing diseases, crimes, and probably even the cause of the Realm Fusion.

Apparently, it was rare to be a Normie, someone who hasn't received a blessing at the age of 10 as everyone else did.

To make matters worse, not only did I not have any soul particles in my body but it was rumored that I was incapable of sensing the soul particles in the surroundings.

These things turned me into an outcast. After all, soul particles were considered the Origin of Existence!

Everything harbored soul particles, no matter how tiny they were, yet, Zayn Noir didn't.

Anybody else would have loathed it but I genuinely loved this.

If not for the bullies, I would have been invisible.

Sadly enough, childish arrogance was nothing uncommon, so I expected them to bother me even if I didn't have a single soul particle in my body.

I was the easiest target even if the truth behind the farce looked different.

Every trace of a soul particle I had collected had been devoured to manifest the Grimoire of the Ancient.

It took me exactly 3000 days to gather enough soul particles to weave the Grimoire of the Ancient, but it was done, finally.

And, I haven't been lazing around during the last eight or so years either. There was more than enough time for me to do various things, not just endure getting bullied or acting weak.

I felt nostalgic entering the room in which I had stayed for the last four years.'To think that it has already been that long. Time really passes quickly.'

My room didn't look shabby but the dull walls with a peeling color did not make it look special either. The room was pretty small. It was barely six square meters big. A small mattress lay on the ground opposite the wooden door. On my left was a small wooden pole that protruded out of the ground.

It looked like a bad replica of a tree with a bunch of branches where one could hang clothes on. However, it was empty except for the dirty backpack that hung loosely down a branch.

The backpack was torn and worn out.

Small objects would easily fall through it, but I didn't have much stuff that to begin with. The student's uniform and the old clothing set I was given in the Sanctuary when I first arrived here were everything I had…well, almost everything.

There was also an iron pole I borrowed a while ago. The iron pole was around fifty centimeters long and as thick as a young child's fist. It was heavy but that was what I needed to train properly.

When I came back with the iron pole that I had once borrowed from the school, for an indefinite period, -obviously-, I was looked at weirdly but nobody talked to me about it.

Everyone was so weirded out by my existence that they didn't even report me. This was a little bit weird but it saved me lots of trouble.

With everything I owned stored in my backpack, I grasped the backpack that had once been white and took my leave. I left the dormitory as quickly as I had entered it and then went outside where greenery and the bright sun greeted me.

The premises of the academy was quite large with a small forest and a lake within the forest.

There were a total of five dormitories, mine being the shabbiest, and the academy.

The Academy was made of two rectangular buildings that formed a 'T'.

There were certain places in the Academy I'd never seen but I was not actually that interested in this place, to begin with.

It had been an unavoidable necessity to enter the Academy in order to get my hands on what I wanted at that time; the best cost-efficient way to acquire knowledge and a rough understanding of society.

Looking at the T-shaped Academy, I let out a sigh.

'The five idiots are probably ratting me out right now.'

I was not worried because I knew that the Academy couldn't do anything against me. They would lose too much!

Rail Landal was their 'product' and to advertise and sell it properly, they had to keep the fiasco hushed. Nobody could find out about the incident.

A Normie, who was rumored to be unable to sense soul particles had beat up their product, after all!

That would be quite a shocker if known by the public.

I shook my head at this thought before I left behind the first chapter of my life in the parallel world.

Walking outside the academy, I found myself in a small town. The town was located in the centermost region of the human territory and there were hardly any issues with monsters.

It was peaceful in the central regions of the human territory and it would only get more dangerous the further one strayed away. But that didn't mean it was without dangers even in the central region.

Nonetheless, the most dangerous areas where humans stayed were the Sanctuaries.

The Sanctuaries were considered the strongest defensive line of mankind. They were city-sized fortresses that were located at the outermost area of the human territory, and their use was to protect mankind from the strongest monsters and evil beings.

Sanctuaries were not a net to catch and get rid of every single monster that desired to trespass human territory. Instead, it was a place where the biggest threats were eliminated.

At first, I thought that it would be possible to create a perfect defensive line to clear the entire human territory of monsters but that was not what mankind desired, to begin with.

Soul Monsters were required for completing various System missions and they provided weaker Adventurers the opportunity to gain fighting experience far away from truly dangerous areas.

I also knew that some Soul Monsters possessed Soul Shards. It was rare but their use were exceptional.

One could create Artifacts out of Soul Shards, and concoct potions and they were a great resource to help someone become stronger in a short amount of time. It was possible to absorb the soul particles within soul shards, after all!

Soul Shards were worth a lot, and the same applied to the corpses of most Soul Monsters!

That was also the reason why most Adventurers were willing to hunt Soul Monsters across the entire human territory, no matter where they hid.

The money one could earn by killing Soul Monsters was also one of the reasons, a rather important one, why I chose to go for a hunt.

I didn't have any money…

…I was dirt poor!
