A line of cars ziplined through the streets. One behind the other, it looked like a security troupe, as it went forward as one entity. Turning left and right, they manoeuvred their way through the busy streets of New York while perfectly managing to break every traffic rule.
Everyone on the streets cursed at the reckless drivers, but who knew that they had something much more important to do than to uphold a few traffic rules? They were hitting close to forty miles per hour on a zone that limited them to twenty. Looking back, they could see a few blinking lights and sirens, but they did not even bother to stop.
For the council, getting to the headquarters of the Marquess was of utmost importance. Inside the front most car, Michael was not having it.
"Go a little slower you idiot! You are missing all the turns that we are supposed to make. Going faster isn't going to decrease the time if you keep making the wring turns and lead us to the wrong place.", he shouted at Arthur.
"Did no one tell you not to shout at the person who is goddamn driving?", Arthur shot back.
"Take a left here. Take a left here. Take a left- oh my god what is the problem with you?", Michael raised his hands up. "I give up. This is just impossible."
The car turned left on the next turn, and went straight. After a few more minutes, it turned left again to get back on track. Michael's cell phone buzzed. He picked it up.
"Yes I know. You can't blame me! You can probably hear what is going on here! The idiot does not know how to drive, and he is getting all those police cars behind us.", Michael said.
ραпdα nᴏνɐ| сom The other side of the phone said something in an indistinctive tone.
"Yes, I know that you guys don't know the routes here. Just a few more minutes and we will be there, I promise. Well, if this dumbo here becomes level headed all of a sudden, and listens to my directions.", Michael put the phone down with anger.
"Take a right here.", he said softly.
The car turned a sharp right and screeched against the road. The other cars behind them followed and Michael closed his ears but could still not block this unbearable sound.
Finally, the car screeched to a halt in front of a tall building. There was only one problem with it.
"You made me come to the back? Why would you do something like that? We are supposed to come in from the front, where Lucas probably enters. Now who knows where he is going to be in that huge building?", Arthur asked as he got off the car.
Trouble followed them quickly enough. Along with the other council members, they had the company of two cop cars.
"Damn it. I thought that they would give up.", he cursed in his head, but he shook himself and looked at Angela, who also got off her car.
"Angela, could you do the honours please?", he asked.
"Why do you people always get us in trouble? Every time.", she said, as she took off her sunglasses and twirled her hair to look at the cops who had pulled up.
"A-Angela! The superstar! I did not know. Can I get an autograph?", they stuttered.
Angela smiled as she went closer to them. All of a sudden, her transparent blue eyes turned into a menacing red, and the cops turned immobile.
"You did not see us come here, You did not see us break any traffic rules. You will go back to where you were thirty minutes ago.", she said with a cold voice.
The moment that she closed her eyes to blink, the cops in front of her shook themselves awake. They looked at each other with confusion.
"Hey, we were supposed to go to that bar right? The crime scene.", one of them said and soon, the two cars sirened away.
"Wow, I still don't get the hang of it. Such a cheat.", Michael said.
"You guys have super regeneration. Why can't we have something like this?", she said, as she put her glasses back on.
"Now, where is Lucas? I don't see any blasts or windows crashed on the building. That's a good thing right?", Raphael asked.
Praneeth, who was straightening his clothes looked at all of them and said, "What are you guys talking about? Can't you guys see him? He was waiting for us this whole time.".
All the others looked around with confusion.
"You have got to give it to Praneeth to spoil an entrance.", a cold voice came from the depths of the building. Michael looked at Lucas' emerging figure with shock.
