206 Oppa, help me

Zi Han looked up to the stealth cruiser and saw Yi Chen standing by the hangar door looking at him. He shook his head with a sweet smile on his face. Even he could tell this man was a whipped boyfriend before he even became one.

“Oppa, help me,” said a sweet milky voice coming from the team chat. Zi Han felt an uncomfortable feeling when he recalled whose voice this was. He checked the dots on the map floating in front of his mech and saw that he was the closest to her.

“Don’t call me that ever and I will come to help you,” replied Zi Han as he walked over to her.

Agial’s mech had a head shaped like a beetle and it was silver all over just like her hair. She was struggling to get out of the hole she was stuck in.

Zi Han just stood there watching her struggle with his arms crossed on his chest.

“Uh... mm uh help me out,” she said stretching out her hand.

Zi Han crouched down and repeated, “Promise me you will stop calling me that.”

Agial looked at him with an aggrieved look on her face but she had no choice but to nod her head and say, “I promise.”

Zi Han reached out and grabbed her mech by the back of its head and pulled her out of the hole.

“Everyone converge at the marked meeting point,” said Evan when he saw that Zi Han and Agial were alone.

Meanwhile, on the other side of Dark Star, Zi Xingxi was watching a blue dot on the floating screen her expression meaningful. Secretary K sitting in front of the command center displayed Zi Han’s vitals and said, “Ma’am everything appears normal.”

“Yah, for now. That entire place isn’t baby proofed. It’s like an accident waiting to happen,” said Lynn Feng who just wanted to get off the warship and go grab Zi Han back. Dark Star was notorious for a reason.

“Han isn’t a kid. If we interfere too soon he will only run the risk of being disqualified,” said Secretary K but Zi Xingxi remained silent.

“Keep watching him. Let me know if there is anything out of place,” she said as she got up, “You follow me.”

Secretary K immediately got up not forgetting to glare at Lynn Feng in the process. A stimulated Zi Xingxi was a dangerous existence and Lynn Feng had just succeeded at waking the sleeping dragon.

“The plan is to stick together. If we catch a signal for any of the devices we should deal with it together. Any objections” asked Evan his gaze on Zi Han who wasn’t paying attention at all.

Zi Han was furrowing his brows while looking at the tall trees with their leaves swaying with the wind. They had been given a list of predators on Dark Star but in truth, none of them had encountered them in real life.

Unlike most Zi Han was born with a key sense. He might be one of the least strong in terms of mental power but his sense was extremely sharp.

“What is it?” asked Evan as he checked the direction Zi Han was staring at. All he could see were dense woods with a breeze passing by making the leaves rustle. He might not be able to see anything but like Zi Han, he could finally sense it.

“Back on back!” yelled Evan and everyone immediately moved into formation with their weapons drawn. Everyone was on high alert and as they fell into silence the entire forest suddenly seemed big. An eerie silence filled the forest with the only sound coming from the rustling leaves and whistling of the wind.

As a cold front swept past them sharp teeth beast more than half the size of the largest mech in the group leaped out from the forest with its tongue stretching out to grab one of them.

“Shit, shit, shit,” swore Crvena with his finger on the trigger aiming at that tongue. The creature broke the defense formation grabbing a yellow mech with its tongue and tossing it at a tree nearby.

The bullets began to rain but the creature was unharmed as it charged toward the guy with a flame blaster in his hand.

With its head lowered it rammed into his mech and sent him flying a few feet away. That’s when its gaze locked on Agial who was reloading her laser cannon.

With legs like that of a horse, it dashed over to strike her. Agial panicked and screamed as she closed her eyes but the expected pain didn’t come.

The creature was punched in the face and with a loud thud, it tumble to the ground leaving drag marks. Shaking its head in confusion it got up and attempted to strike back at the culprit but it was suddenly grabbed by the neck and raised to the ground.

Flailing around with its limbs jerking around to hit him it hissed in pain as Zi Han crushed its larynx with his mech before pulling it out. Blood splattered everywhere as he ripped apart the beast’s crushed larynx.

His expression though was absent. That’s because when he was a kid his mother designed a coloring ebook with several monsters and she would ask what it was and its weakness. This is where he had seen it and how he knew its weakness.

He roughly threw the creature to the ground as he panted heavily. He took a step back staring at those lifeless eyes of the creature.

Everyone, “....”

Crvena’s brow furrowed as he asked, “How did you know it would work? Lasers didn’t work neither did flames or bullets yet you....?”

While others were being helped to their feet Zi Han crouched down and touched the hard shell of the mauve creature.

“I have seen it in a book before,” he replied recalling the memory of him sitting on his mother’s lap coloring it pink while she laughed because it was meant to be purple.

“Don’t tell me you freaking studied zoology?” said a black-haired boy in their group.

Zi Han didn’t answer him. He stood up and asked Agial if she was okay. Terrified half to death she shook her head and began to follow after him.

“They usually move in a herd so be on the lookout,” he said.

Evan was at a loss at this point. He couldn’t help but be glad Zi Han was on his team otherwise he would have already lost so many team members from just one encounter with a beast.

This was indeed true. Hela lost three team members after encountering a funny-looking chimera-like creature.
