399 Lovesick... Aww

“The fact that the word lovesick exists, that the simple absence of a person can make you feel physically ill, says a great deal about the terrible power of the human heart.” – Beau Taplin

This was exactly how Yi Chen felt. To be honest he had no idea how he kept himself going all this while. He had worked himself half to death trying to distract himself. He knew why Zi Han was distancing himself from him, that was why he was working very hard and doing whatever it takes to ascend to that position.

His father wasn’t necessarily the problem but the forces that weren’t impressed with his association with Zi Han. After reassuring some people and stripping power from some, Yi Chen finally achieved his goal. It didn’t take much to get his father to step down.

His father yelled at him when he handed him the letter of renouncement that required his blood print. This wasn’t the first time a successor had demanded the predecessor to step down from that position but it was rare.

The marshal probably felt bad watching his son slowly dying inside that he didn’t really put up a fight. He yelled here and there but right after that he gave in and pressed his bloody print on that letter letting his son take over.

After he let it all go he suddenly felt a huge weight had been lifted off his shoulders. It seemed he was also tired of the politics and stress that came with this job. Outwardly he would express his anger but inwardly he was as high as a stoner. His son had proved that he was ruthless enough for the job thus he had nothing to worry about.

This was how Yi Chen managed to get himself the position of Marshal at a very young age. The saying, “Life isn’t about doing whatever you want unless you have the power to control it,” resonated with him for all these years and now that he had the power he just couldn’t wait to bring his future husband home.

The problem now was how to convince Zi Han to come home with him. He also knew that after protecting Tala, Zi Han would be very upset with him but she was a very important chess piece for now.

There was something he needed from her something concerning the royal family that could help him find Zi Han’s father. After he gets what he wants he would let his lover do whatever he wanted with her. He could have mentioned this to Zi Han but because his lover was avoiding him at any cost they couldn’t have that conversation.

.....

Yi Chen leaned his head back and sighed wondering when he could see that sweet smile again. The only way he could calm the storm threatening to overwhelm him was by watching the recorded videos of Zi Han.

They would momentarily keep the dark gloom at bay but after that, he would be filled with great sadness. Today was one such day. Yi Chen closed his eyes trying to keep his chaotic emotions under control when Hydra suddenly spoke breaking the silence in the room.

“Marshal Yi, there is some movement. The madam is making a move on Tala,” said Hydra and Yi Chen opened his eyes as he sat up abruptly. A slight quirk rose at the corner of his lips as he got up. The rabbit had been caught in his snare and he couldn’t wait to catch it.

Zi Han who had no idea that his fiance had set this up for him walked down the halls of the luxurious building. Because Tala was heavily guarded Zi Han couldn’t just do what he normally does. He couldn’t just walk in there and finish the job like the other contracts he took up.

This left him with no choice but to go undercover. He couldn’t conceal himself as part of the military personnel. They had genetic markers on their wrists that couldn’t be replicated.

His only option was to become one of the male escorts in the establishment. Tala was well known for her preference for younger men and after years of being overly protected by the military, she finally had the opportunity to come to her favourite place, a place that legally offered escort services. After being granted a day for herself she booked a male belly dancer from this club.

She had heard a lot about this transcendent beauty with a body that flowed gracefully like a waterfall and skin as silky as fine jade with eyes like that of an enchanting devil luring the most innocent of girls into handing over their family property.

She wanted a taste of this enchanter and no matter how hard she had tried in the past she couldn’t get this dancer’s attention. She managed to convince the Marshal to get her the most precious hour of her life.

Who would have thought though that her precious flower ready for the plucking was replaced by an enemy she had been actively provoking? What shitty luck she had.

Zi Han had Raya abduct the male dancer and he took that man’s place with half of his face wrapped in a red scarf. He instructed Raya not to do anything to the male dancer but he didn’t say anything about not making him dance. Raya untied him and asked him to show him some moves but who would have thought this man would be so haughty? He turned his nose up high in the sky and ignored Raya.

While Raya was trying to coax a dance out of the escort, Zi Han was walking to the room with a soft clanking sound coming from the fitted hip belt made out of coins, the golden headdress on the scarf covering his face and the golden anklets wrapped around his ankles like cuffs.

He was truly befitting of the most entrancing male escort in the entire federation. When he walked, the way his body flowed had people turning their heads for a second glance and when he turned to look at them with his alluring fox eyes, it was game over for them.

“Mano is a little different today whispered the girls following behind him.

“Shh, do you want him to complain to the matron? You will get us punished,” whispered the second girl but Zi Han could care less about what they were saying. As long as they didn’t mess his plans up he wouldn’t be bothered by them.
