427 Cursing out one’s husband in fury

Zi Feiji reached his cabin and carelessly poured himself a glass of whiskey with his trembling hand.

To say he was extremely worried would be an understatement. He was plagued with worry. He knew about this whole space jumping thing but he never took interest in it because it was the royal family’s well kept secret not meant for the outside world.

He knew Zi Han would agree to Yi Zhen’s request because he was in love with Yi Chen. He would gladly jump into this fire pit but how on earth was his grandson going to succeed? How was he going to succeed in attempting a space jump he had no idea he could do a day ago?

Zi Feiji sighed before gulping down the entire contents of his glass. A few steps back he slumped heavily into his seat before pulling up all the information Hydra willingly handed to him. It also wanted to find Yi Chen at any cost.

Zi Xingxi who had just finished a long and tiring process of getting a sick Zi Han to eat answered the call and walked outside to the sundeck.

“Ya, what’s up,” asked Zi Xingxi wishing she could smoke one or two to calm her nerves.

“How is he?” he asked and Zi Xingxi pursed her lips as she sat down at the edge of the sun lounger closest to her.

“He is not doing well. I am guessing you know that Yi Chen is missing,” she said and Zi Feiji nodded his head with an exasperated sigh.

“And Yi Zhen thinks that he is in the Republic,” he said only for Zi Xingxi to raise her head in astonishment.

.....

She snorted disbelieving his words. The both of them knew how impossible that was without the technology of the Yeoh family which the greedy bastards failed to attain after getting their wish.

Zi Feiji knew she wouldn’t believe him but what had to be said had to be said.

“He was looking for Zi Han’s father... your husband for Zi Han’s sake and somehow he found out about Tala knowing stealing documents or something about the royal family’s secrets so he came across thi-,” he continued explaining according to what he could see but Zi Xingxi’s soft call woke him up.

“Dad,” she said her entire body trembling in shock. Her breathing quickened as she came closer to the screen, “Do do you know what you are saying?”

Seeing his daughter looking this devastated he couldn’t speak for a moment. Her complexion had turned ghastly white like a sheet of paper and her whole person looked like she was going to be sick.

“I... I know. Read it for yourself. This is everything they gave to me,” he said and Zi Xingxi quickly accepted the files her heart beating out of her chest.

“This... this,” she stammered while going through every detail in front of her. “How? How can that be possible? I buried him. I watched him die, I did... everyone did... I. Dad,” she said again and this time she couldn’t control herself anymore. She broke down in tears while re-reading everything as though to make sure she hadn’t made a mistake.

It was like her emotions had fallen back to ground zero like the day her husband died. She was reliving that emotion as she rejected the notion that her husband was alive. Zi Feiji could only helplessly watch as his daughter was on the brink of another emotional breakdown.

“Honey listen, listen... your son is the only one who can do this. He is the only one who can perform these space jumps... I ne-,” he said trying to bring her back to the very important point.

“What?!” she yelled releasing her poor hair that was being pulled at her roots. Zi Feiji realised then that maybe his daughter didn’t know about this piece of information. How could she not? Didn’t her husband casually mention it or otherwise?

Seeing her father silent she called out to him this time her voice terrifyingly loud, “Dad!”

“Uh... Xixi, there is no space jump technology. Your husband, his father before him, your son they are the space jump technology. There are no special blueprints or something of that sort. There is a way to make a space jump device by injecting their mental power b-,” he explained but Zi Xingxi looked like her soul had been sucked out of her body.

“Are you kidding me? Argh, that bastard better be dead because if he isn’t, I will kill him myself. Why the fuck wouldn’t he tell me that? Oh wow, and he was mad because I didn’t tell him that I went to the zoo without him. He was so upset that I ate my first empanada without him. Oh and guess what, he was so fuckin mad when I didn’t tell him I had a foot fetish. Yet he somehow forgot to tell me that he could do space jumps?! That’s bullshit!”

Zi Feiji, “...”

He had unknowingly stepped on a landmine set for someone else and he was now suffering the consequences thereof. This was way too much information than he bargained for.

“You know what no no... let that bastard stay in the Republic. He should stay there forever. I don’t want him anymore,” she said now speaking out of anger.

Zi Feiji tried to calm her down but after opening and closing his mouth a couple of times he just pursed his lips and let her vent it out.

After pacing back and forth making her father dizzy Zi Xingxi finally stopped and said, “No, I change my mind. He should come home so I can ignore him then he will know what I am mad about.”

Zi Feiji just rubbed his temples unable to come up with the right words to say to her. She was dealing with the emotions the way she always dealt with them that is yelling, saying something before retracting it and then saying the opposite thing before slowly smoking an entire pack.

Zi Feiji now felt very regretful because he didn’t know how she was going to react when she found out that he confiscated all her cigarettes and Zi Han’s too while they weren’t looking. Will it be armageddon or perhaps everything won’t go to shit? Who knows?
