487 .... I only remember my wife.”

He thought his father would be soft about it striking once or twice but soon he realised that anyone who would be with his mother must have a tinge of craziness buried deep within.

Blow after blow Zi Han’s eyes widened having realised that his father was no soft persimmon. He didn’t care that he was covered in blood as he pulverized the beast as though venting out all his past grievances.

All that time he couldn’t spend with his son. All the birthdays he missed. Everything came out all at once as that hammer cracked the skull of the beast repeatedly.

Zi Han ended up sitting his mech down while watching his father’s brutality. While he was sitting absent-mindedly a call suddenly came through. Who else could it be if not his mother?

When it connected Zi Xingxi almost cried out in joy seeing her baby boy in one piece. The reason she called his light brain was because her husband didn’t have one. It was long disconnected.

“Ar-are you okay?” she asked almost wishing she could climb through the light brain and check every inch of him for injuries.

“Yo-you just vanished just like that. Uh, your poor mother’s heart. I thought I lost you. I really thought... I lost you both. How to live after that? I would die and your grandfather would follow without hesitation. Don’t you dare ever do such a thing ever again....,” she said and wanted to keep going when Zi Han reversed the camera showing her Igneous still beating the already dead beast.

Zi Xingxi’s heart stagnated and her vitals showed signs of shock alerting Zi Feiji and Lynn Feng on the Han warship.

“Chronos what’s wrong with her? Is she hurt or having a heart attack?” asked Zi Feiji in a panic. He was ready to get down there and alert the medic team when Chronos connected to Hua’s feed and sent it to the floating screen in the bridge.

.....

“No sir, she is not dying. She is just in shock,” replied Chronos wishing it had tear ducts so it could cry to its heart’s content.

“Is that.... is it really?” whispered Lynn Feng before Zi Han’s brittle voice sounded.

“Ma... I brought him back. Pa is back,” he said and Zi Xingxi choked on her tears that were already falling down.

This scene would have been sweeter without the blood and gore from the mech using a heavy war hammer on the beast.

“I brought him back,” he whispered and Zi Feiji tapped Lynn Feng’s shoulder.

“Broadcast it. I want all those bastards to weep and kowtow. The emperor of Onyx Federation is back.”

Lynn Feng was a little hesitant but she dared not disobey. There was a reason why Zi Feiji said to do this thus she tapped into the feed and broadcasted it to all cities and on Starnet.

No matter what show they were watching it was replaced by this screen, the screen of Igneous ripping out the spine of the beast that had been broadcasted tearing apart Loch Ness star’s deadly mountains.

The discussion on Starnet was heated with some thinking it was Zi Han in the mech again. Criticism and praise followed each other tugging and pulling tearing an entire galaxy apart. People were divided about this matter and some even had the audacity to blame the beast on the Bloodgarde and how this was all just a scheme plotted by them against the federation so they would be grateful to them and forget the crimes already on top of their heads. Well, that is until Igneous turned around revealing the person in the mech. It was like seeing a ghost live on camera.

Yeoh Jun who was completely unaware of it felt so good inside that his mental power rushed out turning into a vicious phoenix spewing flames into the sky. He stepped on the beast’s corpse with his flaming mech and the beast was burnt to ashes on the spot.

“I am guessing you are all healed now,” said an oddly familiar voice.

Yeoh Jun glanced at him and said, “Your old man feels rejuvenated.”

Right after that, the feed was cut leaving behind a flabbergasted populous. Starnet was eerie silent for a second. It was only the cult members who believed the phoenix will rise again that were celebrating and taunting everyone who called them crazy. Right after that, the frenzy started again and the entire Federation was in turmoil. How could they not when they saw a ghost on Starnet?

Zi Han pulled up a call transfer and asked, “Do you want to talk to him?”

“Nope,” said Zi Xingxi and immediately hung up the call.

Zi Han, “....”

Wasn’t she the one who was grieving over him for two decades? Why was she shy all of a sudden?

Shy wasn’t the right word. Zi Xingxi was trembling all over including her lips and fingers. Her face was wet with tears and her eyes swollen so yep she wasn’t ready. She wasn’t emotionally ready to see the man she thought died a long time ago. She had to calm down first thus she wiped her face but the more she wiped the more tears fell.

She couldn’t contain it thus he burst out crying and covered her head with her arms resting on the console. A lonely figure of a mech stood in the snow giving off a complicated feeling.

Raylan stood not so far away staring at Chronos’ figure with snow on its shoulders. Yi Chen wanted to comfort her but he stopped himself. It seemed she wanted to be alone.

While he staring there blankly he didn’t notice the mech standing behind him. It was the desolate figure of Hydra. Yi Zhen wanted to talk to his son but he didn’t dare make a sound. He just watched the mech’s back for a while trying to come up with the words to say.

After hesitating for a long time he finally licked his dry lips and said, “Chen Chen.... dad missed you.”

Yi Chen’s brows furrowed as he turned his mech around. He immediately wanted to scold his father for making it difficult for his wife but when he met those teary eyes and that haggard face Yi Chen couldn’t say it.

He swallowed his emotions and said, “I don’t remember you. I don’t remember... I... I only remember my wife.”

Yi Zhen, “...”
