493 “Baby, I can’t... I really can’t leave...

Zi Xingxi had boarded the Han warship and like her son, she had also avoided everyone as much as possible. She looked like a hot mess right now and her emotions weren’t stable enough to speak to anyone thus she discreetly entered her cabin.

When she entered she leaned her back on the closed door before exhaling deeply. She showed a slight quirk at the corner of her lips as her body slowly slid down till she was crouching on the ground.

She pushed back the strands of hair sticking to her face revealing a glowing pair of eyes like pearls underneath the moonlight.

She chuckled lightly with both her hands pushing back her hair. She felt an inexplicable joy overwhelming her.

“... He is really back,” she whispered and laughed a little as she leaned her head back on the door.

“... bath. That’s right, I will take a bath first,” she said before getting up with a spring in her step.

“Run a bath for me please,” she said and the home AI system running the cabins of the warship answered,

“Yes, ma’am.”

With a swoosh, the tap in the bathtub opened at Zi Xingxi’s preferred temperature. While it was running Zi Xingxi opened one of the drawers revealing a stocked-up minibar.

.....

She picked a bottle of an already opened cabernet sauvignon and grabbed a wine glass before pouring it out.

“Play my favourite playlist,” she said as she tapped the wine glass lightly with a dazed expression. On her face was a dazzling smile, a smile that hadn’t been on her face for decades.

“He is back,” she whispered again with excitement all over her face. She laughed happily as she walked over to her bathroom while taking off one piece of clothing at a time and sipping on the wine in the interim.

Having stripped into her birthday suit she stepped into her bathtub right at the centre of the bathroom. She set her wine glass on the side and tied her hair up into a top bun before slowly sinking into the warm water with bubbles covering the surface.

“Wah-ah-ah, oh, oh, oh, oh.... earth angel, earth angel... hmmm... my darling dear... love you all the time...,” she sang along to the old song she found in the archives before taking another sip.

She leaned back resting her neck on the edge of the bathtub when the emergency hatch that had never been opened suddenly jerked and a man crawled out of it like a dog crawling through a doggy door.

Most women in this situation would cover their key parts and yell pervert but Zi Xingxi wasn’t like most women. She grabbed her handgun and pointed it at the man who was struggling to stand up straight.

“Why are the emergency hatch doors so small?” he said and when Zi Xingxi heard his voice her heart froze. She contemplated drowning herself in the bathtub. Okay, maybe not exactly drowning herself in it but hide underneath the water.

But before she could do anything the man turned around and froze before apologising frantically.

“No no no. I am so so sorry. I didn’t mean to. Oh god... my wife is going to kill me,” he said while trying to crawl back into the doggy door. He had been shutting his eyes the entire time so he didn’t see who it was neither did he care to know. He just wanted to go and find his cheap son and beat him to death.

“Baby, where the fuck do you think you are going? The fuck,” swore Zi Xingxi with a hint of annoyance.

When Yeoh Jun heard the voice he abruptly raised his head knocking it on the hatch hard. “Ouch,” he grumbled while crawling back out. He rubbed the back of his head as his gaze shifted to the bathtub. When their gazes met Yeoh Jun froze his heart racing.

His face which was stiff suddenly loosened as he crawled towards the bathtub whispering, “Xixi... Xixi...”

Zi Xingxi who didn’t want this to be how they met after more than two decades suddenly realised what kind of situation they were in. It was the worst and most embarrassing situation ever.

She was in a bathtub naked and in a mess. What about this was romantic and sweet?

“No no no don’t look at me. I look horrible. Just walk away... I just... I can’t,” she stammered but Yeoh Jun couldn’t leave. How could he? He had already left her alone for so long and couldn’t bring himself to leave again.

“Baby, I can’t... I really can’t leave... I shouldn’t have left you. I am sorry,” he said pressing his forehead against hers. Nothing else mattered at this point. He just wanted to be with her, comfort her, and love her. He felt like he had truly wronged her forcing her to live like a widow for more than two decades.

“I am sorry. I am so sorry. Please don’t cry,” he whispered with his hand pressed at the back of her neck, not at all bothered by the foam on her body.

Yeoh Jun pressed his hand on hers that was resting on the side of his neck while calling out Xixi sweetly. He rubbed the back of her hand with his thumb as a tear flowed down his cheek. His father always told him that it was okay for men to express themselves even with tears. Men were human beings as well with feelings and crave intimacy as well so he was never one to shy away from crying.

Zi Xingxi was so deep in her emotions that she almost wanted to crawl out of the bathtub and embrace him tightly. She didn’t even care that she was naked or at least didn’t think about it

Since it was slippery and she couldn’t get out she went for the next best thing. She tilted her head slightly and kissed his lips hard till the veins on her temple were throbbing. She wanted to cling to him so tightly and make sure he would never leave her again.
