"Which means that you're a supernatural being too, aren't you?" she asked him. It was strange hearing herself say that.

Years ago, she would've laughed at herself for asking such a weird question, but she was listening to her gut.

After everything that had been happening and all of the information available to her, she couldn't ignore the thought.

Elias lowered his eyes from hers, almost looking ashamed.

"I would never hurt you," he promised her.

That was a good enough answer for Alyssa.

If he wasn't a supernatural being, he would tell her no. She believed that they were past the point of hiding things from each other.

When he wouldn't look back up at her, she placed a hand on his shoulder, drawing his eyes to hers.

"Care to tell me what you're? What type of supernatural being are you? A werewolf?"

Elias chuckled a little when he heard her. She was taking this information much better than he had expected.

"No-I'm something more powerful. It's kinda complicated."

Alyssa frowned. Something more powerful? She was now more curious than ever.

"Care to tell me what you're?"

Elias looked at her eyes filled with curiosity instead of fear and sighed.

"Long time ago, the devil fell in love with a beautiful Asian woman. In order to get her he disguised himself as an ordinary man and went to work for her as her bodyguard.

They fell in love but the woman's father didn't want his daughter to be with a mere bodyguard so he got rid of the bodyguard. Heartbroken, the woman ran away from home.

Unbeknownst to her she was pregnant."

Alyssa raised her eyebrows in disbelief. The devil? Wait was he talking about the guy downstairs?

"Wait-What? So you're the child she was carrying? And how was the woman's father able to get rid of the de-bodyguard?"

It felt weird to uttered the word devil. She believed certain forces existed in this world but to be this close to the devil's relative? Gosh no.

Elias lips curled into a small comforting smile while he shook his head.

"No I wasn't the child the woman was carrying. It's my mother. And yes the bodyguard disappeared because he didn't want to put the woman he loved in trouble."

Alyssa bite her lips as questions kept gnawing at her.

"So….your mother is the daughter of the de-bodyguard. That means you're that's man grandson?"

Elias nodded. His girl was smart.

"Yeah. Like I said-it's kinda complicated. My parents had to fake their death and create a new identity for us after we found out my father's family is a family of powerful witches who fights against evil.

So my parents love is kinda forbidden love. Even though they found out at the last minute after my mom was pregnant with us."

Elias placed his hands in his pocket waiting for the information to sink in. He knew it was a lot to take him.

"So….if your mom is the devil's daughter and your father is a witch. Where from the vampires?"

Alyssa asked as she looked at him with furrowed brows.

"My dad isn't a witch though. Only the females in the family gets that power but I'm an exception. The vampires were created by my grandfather to protect and serve us."

Alyssa opened her mouth and closed it.

"Oh….but if they're technically your servants how can Scott defy you?"

Elias shrugged, "Actually they listen to only my parents and in order to protect the people around me my parents kinda placed a seal on my abilities. I'm a mixture of darkness and lightness at times I lose control. You know-"

Silence fell between them. For what seems like an enternity Alyssa finally spoke.

"I'm not scared of you or anything. You were still a supernatural being back when we dated, right? You never hurt me then either," she told him, trying to comfort him. It was strange, but she wanted him to know that he didn't frighten her.

But wow, her ex-boyfriend was a powerful supernatural being. No-no he was literally the devil's grandson.

So many crazy things had happened to her since she met him that the news didn't knock her off her feet like it probably should've.

Honestly, it made sense the more that she thought about it. He had always been secretive, always kept her at an arm's length. He was harboring a huge secret from her.

"I wanted to tell you, but my family would've flipped out. My parents really look out for me, but I didn't want them to force me away from you," Elias sighed as he shook his head.

"Is that what happened in the end? They made you break up with me?" Alyssa asked, feeling her breathing nearly stop once she asked him that question.

It made sense to her more than him just getting up and leaving her behind like she was nothing.

She truly believed that he loved her back then, so him leaving was cold and out of the blue.

Elias gave her a sad look as he nodded faintly.

"They were afraid that I would hurt you or expose our secret, and I ended up doing both anyway," he said before turning back to the front.

"I was young. They thought I would lose control. As much as I hate to admit it, they're had my best interest in mind. I wouldn't have forgiven myself if I had hurt you."

Alyssa frowned as she watched him. He seemed torn up about it, while she felt a little lighter.

She finally had a reason for why he left that made sense. It was awful that it happened, but he had to break up with her to keep her safe.

"Are they fine with you being around me now?" she asked him. She knew that it was years later, and he was an adult, but did his control change in that amount of time? She didn't even know how all of that worked.

At one time, did he want to hurt her? She almost felt like that was too personal of a question to ask him.

Elias nodded.

"I'm older now. I've shown them how much control I have over myself," he told her before looking over at her.. "I'm back."
