After walking for some time, Leon arrived in front of a large hill. He tilted his head before deciding that this place was good enough for him to test out some of his basic abilities. He waved his hand and the hill was immediately split into two down in the middle.
"That was... nice." He hummed and looked at his hand. While he could do this even before his advancement, he noted that the amount of mana needed was much less, and the process was much more efficient.
A grin spread over Leon's face as he flexed his fingers. He held up his arms and the two halves of the hill began to tremble as they broke away from the earth and floated in the air.
Boom.
A dull sound was heard before a large piece of earth began to collapsed on itself, turning into a condensed chunk of earth that kept on shrinking.
"What are you doing?" Yaika asked from a distance. She stood afar to give Leon the space he needed.
"Watch and find out." Leon replied without turning back. He kept on using his gravity magic to condense the earth. When it had reached the level of a small house, the air around it lit up with flames that quickly heated up the rock until it had turned into lava. Meanwhile, this lava continued to be condensed by Leon's Gravity magic without stop.
After a minute, a two meter tall body of lava that glowed with dark light swirled in front of Leon. With his manipulation of Fire and Water magic, Leon rapidly cooled the lava and shaped it into a skeletal figure. When the figure cooled down, but was still radiating with steam and leftover heat, Leon activated his Monarch Title, and the skeletal figure glowed with purple light.
[You have successfully created a new member of your race, Obsidian Skeleton!]
Thud!
The skeleton before him immediately dropped to its knees as it gained awareness. It could instantly tell, with its meager, newborn intelligence, that Leon was its master and creator, the lord of its race.
"I greet you, my Lord." The Obsidian Skeleton greeted.
"Rise. Tell me your name." Leon commanded and the skeleton did as he told it.
"I... I do not have a name, my Lord." It bowed its head in disgrace, as if not having a name upon its birth was a crime.
"I see. You shall be known as..." Leon paused and thought. He had not prepared a name. "Reagan." Leon eventually said as he remembered a name from Earth he had once seen. It was not a name that was too common, and it had numerous meanings. From 'first born' to 'little king'. Leon had high hopes for the first Obsidian Skeleton he had personally created.
"Thank you, my Lord!" Reagan bowed deeply as he was touched by Leon's consideration. His body glowed slightly as it was covered by a dark purple armor and a spear appeared in his hand. It seemed as if the naming completed his birth or something like that. Leon was not sure.
He turned to the second half of the hill and repeated the process all over again until another Obsidian Skeleton was standing before him.
"Your name shall be Daren. You will assist and work with Reagan in raising your people in the future." He told the second Obsidian Skeleton.
"As you wish, my Lord!" Daren bowed and stepped back, standing just a step behind Reagan. A regal robe appeared over his body, along with a hood and a long staff that was crowned with a black skull.
"Go back and wait for me. Your seniors will see to you." Leon commanded them and they quickly left. By their seniors, he meant Kaladin and Nero. He was sure that the two of them would be happy to see more of their kind. Speaking of which, the more Obsidian Skeletons he created, the stronger those two would become.
As the two Obsidian Skeletons headed in the direction of the forward base, Leon slipped into thought. Those two had been born at the Peak of B rank. He had a possible reason to support such an exaggerated leg up, and he felt that it was plausible.
His reason was that the two had been created individually with his attention focused on just the two of them. If he had created more of them at the same time, then surely, their strength would have been weaker and more spread out.
"Besides..." Leon took a look at his overall mana level. He had used up almost half of his overall mana to create them, which would have left him spent if it was before his race advancement! Not only that, but his lifeforce was noticeably weaker, as he needed to sacrifice a bit of himself to create more of his kind. After all, he was not omnipotent. He could not create something out of nothing.
"Did you just... create life?" Yaika came closer with a slack jaw and wide eyes. Her blue eyes trembled ever so slightly.
"You could say I created death." Leon joked. After all, he had made skeletons.
"Don't play with me! You just accomplished something that has only been speculated in theory and spoken of in myths! You created a lifeform!" Yaika's face was red.
Unlike the rulers of certain powerful empires and nations, Yaika did not know of the Monarch Title. If not for Ursula and Leonidas mentioning earlier, then she would not have even known of it. However, knowing of it and knowing what it was used for were two different things. This was the first time she was witnessing such a thing, and she did not even link it to the Title she had heard of earlier.
"I know how ground breaking this is, but you are not a little girl. I trust you can shut your mouth about this. I was willing to trust your presence here because of the trust I have in Richard." Leon said with a bit of pressure in his words.
Instantly, Yaika stopped complaining, but she crossed her arms and pouted. "I give up. Do what you want." She sighed, finally realizing that even after her long seclusion, there were still some monsters in this world that completely outclassed her. And this Leon was one of them!
