Nedra walked over to Leon and handed him a letter.
"This is for you." She said.
"What is it?" Leon asked curiously as he took it from her.
"No idea. It came from Rivera, the Continent of the Elves. But it did not come with the identity of the sender. It was delivered through a magic construct of some sort that vanished as soon as it passed the letter." She replied.
"Oh..." Leon frowned as he opened the letter. The moment he opened it, a light flashed out, and an image was projected above the paper.
"Ah! If this letter is open, then that means it has gotten to you, Your Excellency, Leon Cromwell." The figure of a young, Elven lady appeared and began to speak. As she spoke, her face remained stoic and serious.
"I am Princess Vera Henisie, Crown Princess of the Elven Empire of Rivera." The person that had sent this letter was none other thank Princess Vera herself! "I apologize for sending this letter in such a mysterious way, but for certain reasons, I need to maintain secrecy."
"We are in urgent need of your assistance. I know that this may come across as demeaning or not being respectful, and I sincerely apologize. I want to propose an offer that may require your presence in Rivera. I cannot say much over this insecure channel, but please, if you are willing to accept my offer, then simply write on the paper of this letter, and your message will be delivered to me."
After those few short sentences, the image blinked out, leaving Leon with a rather unremarkable looking piece of paper.
"That was... unexpected." Nedra blinked.
"You don't say." Leon sighed and held his chin in his hand. He looked down at the paper as he thought of what his reply would be.
Nedra shared her thoughts. "Look on the bright side. If you accept this, then this can turn into a good chance to explore the Elven Continent! In fact, we can even use this opportunity to start a world tour!" She exclaimed.
Leon rubbed his chin in thought as he became more and more invested in Nedra's suggestion. This was a good opportunity. He was never a person who liked sitting in one place. Going to Rivera would be a nice change of pace for him.
"Fine, then. I'll accept this her offer. Rakon and the others can supervise Fort White for the time being." Leon decided and held up his hand. The Dark Pill manifested above his hand and turned into a small pen that he quickly used to scribble his reply. Yes, the Dark Pill had other practical functions other than being used as a weapon.
After the war had come to an end, although a certain level of alertness still lingered, Leon and his subjects had continued to expand the city around Fort White. As the soon to be Capital of Leon's budding Empire, it was expected that it would be a large city that was very extravagant and awe inspiring.
Already, Leon had been making strides toward completing the magic rune that would overlap on the one that was already in the center of the magic crystal mine that served as the millipede nest. He estimated that the gravity magic runic formation that would allow Fort White to defy gravity and become a floating city, would soon be completed. It would take a week or so more of constant inscribing to complete.
With his constant efforts, Leon had already gotten the Enchantment and Inscription skills, and once again, he had low level skills.
All of his skills had been boosted to Advanced grade after his latest race advancement. Because of that, the new skills he had just gained were the odd ones out, as they were only at Apprentice grade.
The only reason they were even at Apprentice grade was because of the difficulty of what Leon was trying to achieve, as well as his immensely boosted learning and adaptability that allowed him to comprehend the basic nuances of these skills.
Leon could have chosen the easier way out and ask for help from someone like Kai, who was incredibly skilled in this field, but it would mean exposing the vulnerability of this magic formation to an external party. Not only that, but he would also expose the presence of such an immense and renewable magic crystal mine to Kai.
While his strength would surely make the other party and the Empire backing him to hesitate when it came to coveting his mine, he did not want to deal with such hassles.
Not only Inscription and Enchantments, but Leon had also embarked on another branch of magic. He had also set his sights on Teleportation magic. It was an interesting magic type.
While he could already teleport personally, it was not truly convenient. Not only did it use a lot of mana, but it was only useful in short distances.
If Leon was going to build an Empire, then he needed to master Teleportation magic so he could built the teleportation formations that would be essential to trade, military activities, and other essential activities of his people.
In order to facilitate his knowledge and speed of learning the skill, he had gone ahead to request help from Michael. The God had not responded, which was quite odd. Ever since around the time the war ended, Michael had been out of contact with Leon, and even going to cause a ruckus within the temple was not enough to draw out the Minor Fate God.
Because of that, Leon had gone ahead and asked Leonidas for spell books and journals pertaining to this branch of magic.
Normally, Leonidas would turn down such a request, but his personal relationship with Leon was quite good, and both parties saw each other in a positive light.
However, Leonidas could not just hand over these things for free. Leon had paid a tidy sum in order to acquire copies of the requested journals and spell books from the Gublin Empire.
