The true bodies of both Major Fate Gods looked like tiny galaxies on their own as they stared into the mysterious river that held the fate of all creatures in the multiverse. Not even the True Gods, as powerful as the Paragon of Undeath could escape from this.
After some guidance from Fazir, Michael was finally able to hold his own. Together, the two of them focused on peering into the Fate of Datar. This was the loophole that they could use to track the progress of the Army of Destruction that was marching to their world.
Through tracing the reverse flow of Fate, Michael soon came upon a scene that shook him to his core. He had long since heard of the scene from Fazir, but seeing and hearing were two different things.
Michael witnessed as what looked to be the sky of Datar came crashing down in a torrential rain of fire and ashes. An army led by dozens of Gods, as well as hundreds of Demigods rushed down from the red sky, laying waste to the world. The native Gods of Datar were held up in their own fights so the native demigods and powerhouses of Datar were defenseless under the relentless attacks that fell on their heads.
"Do not get too immersed. This is but one of the many paths that fate may lead us down. Look this way." Fazir's voice rang in Michael's head and Michael turned. The scenery changed and he found himself staring down another pathway. This time, it was different. Yes, there was war, fighting and bloodshed, but this time, the Army of Destruction was not as domineering.
"This..." Michael was taken aback, not able to believe his eyes.
"Yes, this is the best path that has been revealed so far. It only appeared when he reached A rank." Fazir confirmed Michael's suspicions.
Michael nodded gravely, taking in the sight like a thirty man gulping down cool, fresh water. He watched as a tide of black fought back against the army of destruction, holding their own and pushing back. This tide of black was made up of countless Undead Monsters. Their strengths varied wildly, but their strong suit was that they did not die easily.
"I knew it was not a waste to invest in him!" Michael clenched his fist. The scenery changed to the Celestial Realm. Another war was being waged there, this time, by the Gods.
Michael saw another army, but this one was much smaller. One thing that mattered, though, was that each and everyone of them was a God!
"How is this even possible?" Michael was shocked. It had taken him so long to ascend to Godhood, and a thousand more years to become a Major God. Leon had not even been here up to two years!
As the scenery changed, Michael came upon the figure of an Obsidian Skeleton. The Obsidian Skeleton was clearly a God, and a powerful one at that. He exuded a powerful aura, and had a cape swaying on his back. A crown made of some sort of black material sat on his skull and several bright gems adorned it.
As Michael tried to focus closer, he suddenly felt a spike of fear. The Obsidian Skeleton turned around and stared right at Michael. Then he smiled and waved.
Crack!
Michael felt pain stab into his mind as he forcefully pulled away from the river of Fate. He cancelled the technique together with Fazir, returning to clarity and holding his head.
"This is the first time I have been able to see so much." Fazir said. Since he was more experienced than Michael, he had been able to glean many more details than what Michael could. He was also able to tell a rough time frame of the future that they had seen.
"We have about two years at most. Depending on some unforeseen variables, we may barely have another year." Fazir said out loud. This timeframe was more accurate than before where he had given them just a year. Now, a year had passed since then and they were still okay for now.
"A year is too short. I doubt we will be able to cope with anything at that time. Not to mention, I don't think even Leon could take a year to reach that point." Michael voiced his thoughts.
"Like I said, depending on some unforeseen variables." Fazir said again and stood up. "We need to tell this news to the others. We must accelerate the growth of the boy and the other Ace Candidates. They will be crucial in ensuring our survival."
"Yes." Michael nodded and followed suit.
Together, the two Major Fate Gods returned to where the others were waiting. They shared what they had found with the others and pressed the need for urgency to the other Gods.
As they were talking, one Minor God spoke up. "I believe the best thing we could do for the Ace Candidates is to remove the Limiter."
After he spoke, silence fell upon the hall. Everyone turned to look at him with surprise, causing him to feel a bit intimidated. But surprisingly, his proposal was taken into serious consideration by a few.
"I believe this is actually a good idea." Dardan suddenly spoke up.
Michael turned to look at the Beast God wit a doubtful expression. Of all the Major Gods, he and Tiphone should be the ones who should have opposed this suggestion the most. Tiphone was absent from this meeting, as he saw no need to congratulate Michael, who he was on bad terms with.
"Is that so? Then we must hold a proper meeting to discuss the viability of this plan. Perhaps it is time to release the Limiter." Another Major God, Tjar, the God of War, said.
The Gods began to discuss this suggestion amongst themselves. Although this was not an official meeting and a decision could not be made here, it was best for everyone to present their views here, and then when the time came, they could make a proper choice on the matter.
