Chapter 485 Mobilizing The Army
"Still not there yet." Leon muttered as he emerged from his meditative state. His bones were a bit stiff from remaining in the same position for days on end, but he casually shrugged it off. He then went over various reports that had come in while he had been meditating concerning the affairs of the world.
"The Army of Destruction will launch their attack tomorrow. I'm surprised that they simply just gave us time to prepare..." Leon muttered under his breath.
Normally, the war should have started by now, but the Army of Destruction had done something that surprised them all. The vanguard of the army sat down beyond Datar and just waited. This caused the Gods of Datar to take the threat much more seriously because it seemed like the army was mocking them and their defense efforts.
"Master." With a flash of lightning, Kaladin appeared. He had noticed the moment Leon had left his meditation and had given him a few moments to recollect himself before appearing.
"Kaladin." Leon nodded in the summon's direction. "We will head to the frontlines now. I am done meditating." He told Kaladin.
"Yes, Master." Kaladin bowed his head before leaving to go and rally up the others.
At this point, Leon's celestial Undead Army had grown to a very large level. While it could not match the number he had in the mortal realm, it was still something to marvel at. At this point, his army consisted of tens of thousands of celestial creatures and around a dozen Gods. Some had ascended from the mortal realm, while the others were some average Minor Gods that he had revived.
He got up and dusted his robes before teleporting out of the room. He arrived at the highest point of the castle that he had built in his Divine Kingdom, taking in the scenery. Over time, his Divine Kingdom had continued to develop even without his active interference. Now, there were creatures living in the area. Of course, none of them were normal. They were all celestial creatures without doubt, but they were not like his summons. He could influence them and make them do things for him, but they were not a hundred percent loyal to him like his summons. of course, this did not mean that they were disloyal. If he had to rate it, then he would say that they were about 70-80% loyal to him while his summons were 100% loyal.
After taking in the scenery for a while, Leon tried to establish a mental link with Michael. It did not take long for the link to be established and it seemed the other God had been waiting.
"Are you ready?" Michael asked.
"I am. Where do we meet?" Leon responded with certainty.
"Let me send you the coordinates. Come prepared." Michael passed on a set of coordinates and Leon nodded before cutting off the connection. Then he raised his hands and clapped them together, producing a crisp sound that rang out all over his God Kingdom. In the next moment, thousands of blurry figures flashed around him before appearing as his summons.
"It is time." His voice carried an absoluteness that pulled strings within the hearts of all the beings gathered.
"Come! We shall depart at once!" Leon raised his arms and a giant magic circle appeared in the sky, flashing with Divine Energy. It was something that he had worked on for a while, a powerful teleportation matrix that could transport a large number of celestial beings.
With a flash of bright light, all the powerful beings, including Leon himself, vanished into thin air. But Leon did not leave his God Kingdom defenseless. He had left a decent number of powerful individuals to protect the place, and he would be coming back every once in a while even as the war went on.
.
.
With a flash of light, Leon and his Undead Army appeared. They appeared out in the Void, much to Leon's surprise. He had thought that the coordinates he had been given would still be within the celestial realm of Datar.
"Thank you for joining us." Leon turned to the side and found one of the Minor Fate Gods that he knew to some extent waiting by the side. The Fate God's name was Cosmo, and he served Fazir alongside Michael for a long time. His ambition was not as great as Michael, so he was quite satisfied with where he was at the moment.
"Hello, Cosmo. I did not expect us to be in the Void. Is this where we will face the Army of Destruction?" Leon turned to the other party and asked.
"Yes. You see, it is best if we do not let them step foot onto the celestial realm of Datar, as that would be where things would go terribly wrong." Cosmo turned around and began to walk away, signaling for Leon to follow. Leon turned and signaled for Kaladin, Nero and Grokus to also follow while a few other Minor Gods dealt with the Undead Army.
"One thing that is not too well known about the Army of Destruction is the Blessing of Destruction that they carry. If they are able to come into prolonged contact with the foundation of a world's celestial realm, then it would begin to crumble. And a world without a celestial realm does not have a bright future ahead of it. The foundation of the world will become brittle and it would be destroyed by its own denizens when they try to use powerful spells or attacks." Cosmo explained.
"This is because without the celestial realm, the amount of ambient mana that is drawn in by the mortal realm drastically reduces. And then the mana that is needed to sustain the world will be used by its denizens, which would lead to it becoming malnourished and eventually falling apart in the end."
Leon listened to this abrupt but helpful lecture as Cosmo continued to lead him through the void. All around them, a stronghold had been built, floating among the stars. Leon found it hard to understand how so many large floating islands had been created in the void, but he did not bother asking.
