Two hours past midnight. The atmosphere in the underground parking lot was still quiet. There were only luxury cars lined up without being filled by their owners. The only car occupied by the owner was a bright red luxury car. It was Kris's car.
The werewolf sat quietly behind the wheel, while Kevin's tense figure took the passenger seat next to him. Kevin's figure hadn't returned to his normal form. His hair was still white and his eyes were still blue.
It had been ten minutes since they left Selena's apartment unit, but the car had not left the parking lot.
"Professor Selena Beischel's original plan wasn't too bad. Won't it be better if I voluntarily go to them, pretend to be subdued by them, and then annihilate them when they're in a chaotic mood because of Blue?" The scientist asked in a bitter tone.
ραпdα nᴏνɐ| сom Kris and Kevin left Selena's place after the lady explained why she made the first plan related to Kevin, also explained why they canceled the first plan and chose to use the second plan proposed by Kris.
"I don't want to take any risk. Your power is stronger than them, but it's still unstable," the tan-skinned man firmly replied.
Hearing the answer, Kevin laughed mockingly. "My biological mother is fine with taking that risk, so why don't you want to do the same?"
Kris's grip on the steering wheel tightened. "Because I'm afraid of losing you! It's been enough for seventeen years that I parted with you. I don't want to be apart from you again!" He emotionally answered the scientist's question.
The answer inevitably puzzled the scientist. He couldn't help but ask, "What do you mean we were separated for seventeen years? Did we know each other before? I thought you only met me when I passed out seventeen years ago, and we were strangers back then."
Kris released his grip from the wheel and stared sadly at Kevin's face. "You really don't remember me?" He asked in a weak voice. Kevin said nothing and didn't look like he was going to answer his question, so he continued, "We first met when we were 6. At that time, I was crying on the side of the road because my father scolded me, and you came to me. You gave me a plastic containing a pair of goldfish to comfort me."
Kevin tried to remember the memory that Kris just exposed. It seemed that the memory was familiar.
"The boy who was crying by the side of the road and I gave him a pair of goldfish that I just bought from a fish shop? Isn't his name... 'Kiss'?"
Kris's eyes suddenly widened at Kevin's question. "My name is Kris! I couldn't spell the letter 'R' properly back then!" He promptly corrected Kevin's recollection.
The innocent Kevin just blinked like a child. "Are you really Kiss? The little kid who came over to our house every day, who played baseball with me and my dad, and who… suddenly disappeared seventeen years ago?"
Kris was stunned by the scientist's question. "You still remember me?" He asked with a face that looked delighted.
"I have never forgotten you. I thought you were the one who forgot me because you left me alone seventeen years ago."
Kevin's answer made his heart flutter. He suddenly hugged the scientist's body very tightly. "I didn't want to leave you after you fainted seventeen years ago, but I have no choice," he whispered heartily. "After Professor Selena injected the formulas in yours and baby Blue's body, she ordered me to find my father and pretend like I didn't know that she was still alive. She asked me to go back to the werewolf clan and she would contact me again one day. I did what she ordered, and she indeed contacted me again two years later when I started living alone at Shallop coastal area."
Kevin quietly listened to Kris's explanation and slowly hugged the taller man back. "It seems that your father has known my parents since a long time ago. Did you also know them even before we met for the first time when I gave you the goldfish?"
The caramel-haired man smiled a little and answered, "I met them once before I met you. My father indeed has a close relationship with your parents."
Kevin only nodded at that answer without saying anything. He remembered the little 'Kiss,' but he didn't know that 'Kiss' was a werewolf back then.
The fair-skinned man then pushed the taller man's chest to separate their body. The two men then gazed at each other's eyes intently.
"I thought you easily forgot me. That's why I gave you goldfish as a gift for your seventeenth birthday."
Kevin smiled a little and touched Kris's left cheek. "So, the goldfish was a gift from you? Actually, I like goldfish because they remind me of you. That's the real reason why I have been keeping goldfish all this time. I miss you, Kiss."
Kris was a little annoyed at the nickname, but the nuisance wasn't worth his joy. He smiled broadly as the flowers bloomed in his heart. It turned out that Kevin never forgot him. He then once again hugged the scientist's body, and the latter hugged him back.
Kevin also felt the same happiness. His heart and body warmed at the same time because of the hug, and suddenly, a mysterious blue light appeared from within his body at a glance, then disappeared again, leaving Kevin's form now back to normal. No more blue eyes and white hair.
Kris saw the blue light and reflexively let go of his embrace. He was also surprised to see Kevin's appearance, which had now returned to normal. "Where did my favorite anime character go?" He asked while cupping his big hands over Kevin's face and moving the face to the right and left as if he was looking for something.
The owner of the face harshly took Kris's hand away from his face. "If you prefer anime characters, then you don't need to date me," he said in an annoyed tone.
Instead of being scared by Kevin's statement, Kris chuckled at his lover's adorable behavior. He, as fast as lightning, stole a kiss on the thin lips of the scientist.
"Welcome back, my most adorable lover!"
The tsundere Kevin showed an expression of wanting to vomit, but his face was flushed.
"Kev," Kris suddenly called his lover in a grave tone. "Are you still angry with me?"
The scientist looked at his lover too with a serious expression. "I've been mad at you too often and I'm tired," he replied. "After all, the real mastermind of all this is that woman. I'm mad at her, not at you."
Kris's left hand rubbed Kevin's right cheek gently. "Don't hate Professor Selena. She's only doing what she can to save mankind."
But, it seemed that Kevin disagreed with that. "Yeah, she's only doing what she can, and that's at the expense of me and Blue as well. She could even take advantage of a baby, who was only a few hours old."
"Kevin," Kris again called his lover with a solemn tone. "Professor Selena was just trying to save Blue. If seventeen years ago she hadn't switched the formula, then Blue would have become a werewolf by now, and you can imagine how that girl would have felt if that happened. Professor Selena ended up putting the formula in your body because she knew you were strong and you would be able to accept the reality."
Kevin pondered what Kris said. Perhaps, Kris had a point. If seventeen years ago Blue had really been injected using the original formula, she would have turned into a werewolf by now, and surely she wouldn't have been able to accept that fact. Perhaps Blue would go on a rampage and lose control.
But, the condition was different because he was the one who turned into a werewolf. The young scientist was shocked, but he was able to control his emotions. He was much more mature than Blue and mentally stronger than Blue.
"Kev, Professor Selena told me that Professor Joseph and the werewolves may initiate a war after this. Their troop numbers are far behind the human forces, but Professor Selena has contacted the military so that they can raise their guard."
Kevin did not immediately reply to Kris's words. His hands moved to grab Kris's hand, which was still perched on his right cheek, and he tightly grasped the warm hand. "Won't it be easier if I turn myself in? The war won't happen if I surrender and kill them all when they're off guard."
The young scientist apparently still insisted on carrying out Professor Selena's original plan that was relatively easy since they could avoid the war by doing that.
But, Kevin's idea made Kris' face turned cold. "Didn't I tell you that I don't want to lose you? You don't have complete control over your own power yet, so it's still possible that they will kill you. It's enough that I lost my mother, and I don't want to lose you!" He spoke in a freezing tone.
"Your mother? The female werewolf, who cried and begged for forgiveness seventeen years ago, is really your mother?" Kevin suddenly asked another question. "A soldier cruelly killed your mother. I should have helped your mother, but I was too weak at that time. I'm sorry, Kris."
Kevin suddenly turned gloomy. Kris, who saw his lover's languid expression, could only hold the scientist's cold hand.
"It's not your fault, Kev. You don't need to apologize."
Kevin had tears in his eyes, but he quickly wiped them away. "If it's not my fault, then whose fault is it?"
Kevin's question made Kris's body stiffen. In a low voice, he whispered, "It's your father's fault."
