Li Shen’s eyes widen before a bellowing roar erupted from the pit of his stomach. The void around him trembled and if one looked closely, even the Pavilions in the distance shook.

This roar was unlike anything this Era had ever heard before.

This was the roar of a God.

It had even caused the surrounding Heavenly laws to violently shake.

“The rage of a God will even reach the Nine Heavens beyond the firmament.”

This saying was a testament to their grandiose existence.

The roar hadn’t only affected the Heavenly laws; the force suppressing Li Shen had faltered as well.

In that split-second window frame, Li Shen didn’t hesitate to call out his Qi Sea projection.

As if a chained beast had been let out for the first time since forever, it came out to giddily rampage in its surroundings.

It seemed to easily force back the rubber band-like force as it widen to its hundred-meter width. It was adamant about not letting anything hinder it from going all out. After all, this was the first time Li Shen had called on it!

Li Shen wasn’t paying any attention to his overly joyous Qi Sea projection. His one-hundred-fifty meter figures quickly shrunk down to his six-foot frame in an instant.

He rocked from side to side since after having that pressure off his shoulder he felt so relieved. But he immediately cast away any thoughts of resting and strangled the ones that were screaming at him to pay attention to his barely functioning body.

Li Shen’s foot skidded, raking up a puff of dust as he planted it flat to steady his body. In slow motion, his head slowly tilted back at the same time. Immediately after his body stabilized his head suddenly flicked up and his body arched forward.

His eyes were dazed, but like an arrow that was let loose from a bow, his body blurred leaving afterimages as he move to cross the hundred-meter distance.

His Qi Sea projection that was happily stretching its legs suddenly realize where it was. The rubber band-like pressure’s tension was at its absolute limit. Like an elastic band, it rebounded and slammed back against Li Shen’s Qi Sea projection causing it to falter.

However, Li Shen wasn’t thinking about anything else, his entire focus was on the double doors of the main Palace.

His figure was like the embodiment of lightning, only he was the color of gold and starry-black light. In an instant, he crossed the hundred-meter distance and was at the double doors.

It was at that moment his Qi Sea projection gave out and immediately shrunk to follow behind him while being scared witless.

Li Shen meanwhile couldn’t slow down in time and was heading for the double doors. Thankfully, they suddenly open as a result of him passing this test.

However, they didn’t open fully before Li Shen banged against them hard before not so smoothly entering.

As Li Shen rolled to a stop, lanterns on either side of the hall lit up to drive away the darkness. His Qi Sea projection took the opportunity to enter the back of his head as he was laying face down.

Some time went by when a bright golden orb the size of a baby's fist left what looked like a throne at the end of the hall, to slowly drift towards him.

The orb came to a stop next to his motionless figure before an old man slowly materialized.

He was golden and transparent at first but as time past his features come to look like a human with flesh and blood. His gray hair was tied into a ponytail resembling those of Imperial status. His robes looked like Imperial robes as they were embroidered with roaring golden dragons at the hems and sleeves.

The old man bent over to look over Li Shen with a skeptical expression on his face.

“Is he dead? How unfortunate, after all this time without someone entering here one finally did only to have him die right after.”

The old man looked and sounded regretful but something sounded artificial about his emotions. His next words that followed would also make anyone’s eyebrows raise.

“He looked rather promising so I made the right choice to increase the pressure some more.”

The old man then looked at Li Shen with pity.

Sigh

He then released a sigh before he turned to walk away while he could be heard mumbling under his breath as he went.please visit pαпᵈα-:)ɴᴏᴠᴇ1.co)m

ραпdα nᴏνɐ| сom “This is bad, if I don’t find a successor soon then the inheritance might lose its protection.”

Even though his words sounded worrying, the strange greedy smile that made its way onto his face was a complete contrast.

“W-Wait.”

Li Shen suddenly groaned out before he slowly tried to get up.

The old man quickly spun around to see that he wasn’t dead.

Worry quickly filled the old man’s face and this time it was genuine. His eyes darted left and right before he made a move to quickly leave.

However, Li Shen froze him in his tracks when he turned to him and said.

“Who are you? And where is my inheritance, I want my meat too.”

The old man gritted his teeth and his heart bled when he heard Li Shen asking for the inheritance, but his latter words caused him to sport a strange look on his face.

"Meat? What meat?"

Meanwhile this interaction was happening, in the Kun Peng Palace was a different scene.

“AHHHH!!!”

Jun tried to bare the pain but his eyes widen as he let out screams of anguish that could make one’s heart quiver at the sounds of them.

The white pillar of light crashing down on him in this expansive white world brought him to his knees. However, there was a fire in his eyes that no matter how painful this hell-like torture was, he would never yield. He would never have his spirit broken no matter how much his body suffered.

After what seemed like forever, the white pillar slowly faded away.

The old man in snow white robes watching on with a passive expression, looked at a drooling and paled face Jun before asking.

“Are you ready to call me Master? Why are you so adamant about doing this the hard way?”

Jun weakly got up and after wiping his lip he croaked out.

“Se-Senior, you said if I acknowledge you as my Master I’ll receive the Kun Peng’s Spirit directly from you instead of carving it on my Soul. But Senior I already have a Master, there is no way I will acknowledge anyone else. If Senior is adamant in using this method to “convince” me to become your disciple, this young one can only accept Senior’s selfishness.”

Despite sounding respectful, Jun made several underlying jabs at this old man.

The old man’s passive expression finally change to having his brows furrowed.

“Child your Master is no one compared to me. After becoming my disciple you'll be able to inherit techniques and power that this backwater Continent has never seen before. You’ll even be able to cross the Heavenly Bridge and enter the Central Continent, there your talents could outshine people who are worthy opponents. However, if you continue to be this stubborn then if you don’t die you’ll be stuck on this mediocre Continent living a mediocre life.”

This was the first time Jun heard this old man had spoken so much to him.

Jun smile freely before he said.

“Your nothing compared to my Master. Even without your help, I’ll gain this inheritance. The spirit of the Kun Peng is to embody aspiration and an indomitable Will. I aspire to become stronger than my friends and my will is unbreakable. I will, no, I must get this inheritance!!”

In front of Jun’s ranting and raving, the old man said nothing more and only casually waved his hand.

The white pillar crashed down from the void above once more, causing Jun’s screams that were even more gut-wrenching than before to echoed out.

The old man passively looked on but something was different. A faint look of hope, or rather anticipation was present in his eyes as he looked at Jun.
