Battle Intent permeated the surroundings as Jun and Mu Fan faced each other. Li Shen was watching on from his position, he could clearly see despite them being far out on Qiang’s trunks.

Jun’s shoulders were slumped as if he was too relaxed to have this tense atmosphere affect him. Looking at Mu Fan he said.

“I see that your Blade Intent has improved a lot more than before.”

He was referring to Mu Fan going all out to sever Qiang’s trunk.

Mu Fan was annoyed at how calm Jun was being, as if he was looking down on his strength. He snorted before retorting.

“Jun, you had never been able to beat me before you lost your cultivation, so what makes you think you beat me after regaining it?”

Mu Fan released the tight grip on his saber with one of his hands and shrugged his shoulders before saying.

“I don’t know how you manage to reach the late Foundation Realm so fast, but that fast cultivation won’t make up for the gap that was already between us.”

Mu Fan’s eyes then shot Jun a steely glare when he finished.

Jun simply release a puff of air to his side before he shifted his body to have one foot behind him and one foot in front, he then said.

“The gap has already been closed, when we fight you’ll understand.”

Mu Fan clicked his tongue in more annoyance.

Jun was acting really weird, did he really have so much confidence in beating him? Or was it just him being too full of himself?

Mu Fan couldn’t tell from Jun’s calm expression because it looked too assured.

“You little brat, you have become way too prideful you know that? Do you know how hard I trained and what I went through while you were being babied by that demon?”

Jun frowned a little.

“Master didn’t baby me, I sacrificed my life to reach where I am today all in order to be stronger than all of you. Don’t look down on my efforts, you call me prideful but what’s with your weird behavior?”

Jun pointed at Mu Fan’s tight grip on his saber.

“I knew you were crazy and obsessed with your saber, but why does it look like you plan on marrying it? Don’t tell me you have gone that far into your madness, I thought your Master gave you the correct method to cultivate your Saber Technique?”

Jun then chuckled in amusement, but he paused when he saw that Mu Fan was smiling instead of getting upset as he thought.

“What’s wrong with me loving my Saber? At least I have a partner that will reciprocate my feelings.”

Mu Fan was still smiling as he said, and it got wider when he saw Jun's ears turning red from blushing.

He was obviously talking about his unrequited love for Lihua.

“W-Wah! Why are you bringing that up?!”

Jun's composure faltered a little, before his entire face became pink as his embarrassment increased.

“Hahaha!!”

Mu Fan couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

“That’s the immature brat I know as Jun, what’s with yer acting? No matter how mature ya act ya will still be that little brat in my eyes!”

For a brief moment, Mu Fan had gained a weird accent for some reason.

As Mu Fan yelled that a terrifying aura rose around him. For some reason this made his already large figure look even grander.

Jun seeing this scowled.

“You look the part of a brute now with that physique.”

“Haha, ya like it? This is the physique I gain after I fix my cultivation method. Even that demon’s unable to hurt me as easily as before. TAKE MY PALM!!”

Mu Fan’s large figure cracked and decimated the trunks below him as he shot towards Jun.

Jun stared at him, his calm expression returning. Seeing Mu Fan's palm heading towards, him a flash of excitement couldn’t help but flicker in his eyes.

As Mu Fan bore down on him, Jun’s back leg slid back further, and instead of drawing a weapon or dodging like Mu Fan thought he would, he actually sent out a palm attack of his own.

Mu Fan's eyes widen and were filled with befuddlement, but he didn’t decrease his palm's velocity instead he increased it.

“IF YA WANT TO LOSE AN ARM BECAUSE OF YER PRIDE, THEN FINE BY ME!!!”

Mu Fan barked as his palm clashed against Jun’s rising to meet his.

BANG!!

A shockwave blasted at their point of impact, the weaker trunks in the area could not withstand the blast and were blown apart.

Pain.

Searing burning pain.please visit pαпᵈα-:)ɴᴏᴠᴇ1.co)m

That was the only thing Mu Fan could feel from his hand.

As he stood there with his palm still against Jun’s own, his heart was filled with shock and incredulity.

Meanwhile, Jun was grinning from ear to ear.

“What? I told you you’d see why the gap between us has already closed. Don’t underestimate my efforts.”

Jun reiterated in a serious tone, and in that moment, Mu Fan felt something behind Jun. His eyes shifted to his back and for some reason, he sense the presence of a monstrous beast. It was empowering Jun, giving him the strength to stand up to him.

For split second, Mu Fan swore he could see that beast. But his eyes widen slightly when he realized the only thing he could see of this beast was a single one of its eyes, but it had completely taken up his entire view.

This beast’s size couldn’t be measured by normal methods, it was too large. And its eye, that single eye had no pupil it was completely white.

Mu Fan’s heart shook because he felt like his consciousness was slowly being sucked into the eye.

Just when he felt he was about to slip into a deep dark place, he felt an impact against his chest and that sent him flying back. He then crashed into the trunks some distance away which slowed his momentum.

With his saber still clutched in his arms, Mu Fan slowly got up while holding his throbbing chest. He looked in Jun’s direction to see him standing upright.

His white hair and robes were flapping due to a gust of wind, but what was more eye-catching was that his eyes had turned completely white.

“You-Just what kind of monster possessed you?”

Mu Fan asked as he stood up, he was still a bit shaken but still relatively calm overall.

“I received the Legacy that made me inherit the Spirit of the mythical beast, Kun Peng. My speed and physical strength have become that of the Kun Peng, you can't beat me without drawing your weapon.”

“Ha, ya say that with so much pride even though it was probably because of that demon that ya got it. And you said he’s not babying ya.”

Mu Fan split in and out of that weird accent, Jun found t weird but wasn't interested enough to ask about it. Mu Fan wasn't called Lunatic Blade Mu Fan for nothing, so who knows what's going on in his head.

Mu Fan turned his head towards Li Shen as he said those words.

Li Shen could not only see but hear them from his distance. He heard everything they had talked about so far.

Li Shen didn’t deny he showed more favoritism to Yang Su and Jun than the others. But he surely did not just hand over everything to them and they instantly received benefits.

He only gave them opportunities, what they got from those opportunities would depend on how hard they worked and struggled for it. And that struggle was no less than what the others go through.

Mu Fan knew that as well, so he looked back at a frowning Jun and said.

“But I know ya probably went through a lot to get it, so I won’t look down yer efforts anymore.”

Mu Fan sucked in a breath of air before releasing it. Looking at Jun with a serious expression he then said.

“But I won’t admit defeat so easily.”

Before his words could even finish, Mu Fan had somehow appeared in front of Jun, even though he was seen standing in his original position.

There was no indication of movement or fluctuation whatsoever, his speed was absolutely mind-boggling.

However, as Mu Fan sent out his palm which was the size of two adults towards Jun, Jun seemed unable to react as it reached him and slammed against his chest.

But Mu Fan froze as he didn’t feel any contact, his hand simply slipped through him.

An after image.

Jun's figure appeared behind him and his reminiscent voice echoed out.

“Remember when you always boasted about your speed? I used to be in awe as well, but now you look so slow in my eyes. Are you done with your testing now? It’s about time we start the real battle.”

Mu Fan lowered his palm and slowly turned to face Jun, but suddenly Jun’s eyes flickered as he took a step back in time to have Mu Fan’s sheathed saber slashed just inches away from his chest.

“Tsk.”

Mu Fan clicked his tongue when he saw Jun dodged his attack.

‘This isn’t going to work.’

Mu Fan thought before he ignored Jun cursing at him for his sudden attack and lifted his hand in the air and shook it slightly.

Li Shen who was far away saw this and his eyes drifted to Mu Fan's wrist which had a black armband around it.

However, it wasn’t an armband.

Li Shen raised his chin resting on his palm and said embarrassingly.

“Oh, that’s right, I completely forgot about those.”
