Chapter 187: Who is the Murderer?

Du Huimin had been in the business world for a long time and was a person who had seen business storms. Very quickly, she recollected herself where her sadness and fear were replaced with stability.

“Mr. Jiang, let’s not resort to insinuations. If your intention is to pry information from me, please don’t waste your time.”

With a surge of emotions, Su Wan ran over to Du Huimin. As today’s matter involved her departed parents, no matter what, Su Wan was unable to calm down.

“Aunty Du, you know the truth of my parents’ accident, don’t you? Could you please tell me?”

As Su Wan spoke, her eyes were misty. “Aunty Du, if you really liked my father in the past, how could you stand seeing the murderer get away with it?”

Du Huimin darted Su Wan a glance but her eyes held an abundance of indifference.

“Wan, I don’t know what you have heard just now but I don’t know about this matter.”

She didn’t know?

Judging Du Huimin’s speech and expression just now, how could she not know?

Feeling anxious, Su Wan wanted to tug at Du Huimin’s hand. She had a look of forbearance and sadness because this was important. If she did not ask clearly, she wouldn’t be able to sleep and eat peacefully and wouldn’t be at ease.

Du Huimin dodged gently and avoided Su Wan.

“I’ve said I don’t know! I’m leaving now. If you’re here to pay respect to your parents, please proceed!”

“Aunty Du, I...”

When Su Wan saw Du Huimin about to leave, she called out to her softly and for a moment, she didn’t know what to do.

Jiang Xuecheng touched Su Wan’s palms, signaling for her not to panic.

Jiang Xuecheng took a step forward. He stood in front of Su Wan, looking like a knight.

“Madam Du, you’re not interested in answering our question, but you should be interested in your daughter-in-law and the baby in her stomach, shouldn’t you?”

Upon hearing this, Du Huimin’s body trembled. The person she cared most about in this world now was undoubtedly her son, Gu Zihang.

Hence, Du Huimin couldn’t ignore anything that concerned Gu Zihang.

Du Huimin felt her heart being seized. She turned around and her cold eyes curved up.

“Mr. Jiang, what are you trying to say?”

When Jiang Xuecheng saw Du Huimin’s disorderly appearance, he was silent for a moment before his voice, which was as sharp as a knife used for cutting ice and breaking jade, entered everyone’s ears.

“Madam Du, I’ve sent you some information today and it should be on your office desk by now.”

Du Huimin stared at Jiang Xuecheng nervously. She felt this handsome man had currently become a venomous snake, which kept biting her rationality.

“So?”

Du Huimin said simply but she seized her hands tightly, revealing her uncalm mind.

“The depth of your daughter-in-law’s scheming mind should not be underestimated...”

Jiang Xuecheng held Su Wan’s hand and his eyes lingered on Du Huimin’s pale face. His eyes were as deep as the night.

A weak and innocent face instantly appeared in Du Huimin’s mind—Su Yurou...

How could Su Yurou be that simple when she could snatch a man from her cousin sister’s grasp?

Du Huimin looked up steadily at Jiang Xuecheng. “Mr. Jiang, are you trying to tell me the baby in Su Yurou’s stomach does not belong to my son?”

If this was the case, she would hit Su Yurou, that white lotus, and throw her out of the Gu residence the minute she reached home.

Upon hearing this, Jiang Xuecheng smiled. “Madam Du, I can explain your doubts at any time but Wan Wan asked you a question just now. Could you please answer her first?”

Hearing what Jiang Xuecheng said, Du Huimin looked at Jiang Xuecheng’s and Su Wan’s linked hands and smiled sarcastically.

“Mr. Jiang, from what I know about you, you’d never fight an unprepared battle. Since you’ve appeared here today, you obviously know the answer. Why do you still ask me?”

Just when Du Huimin’s voice died down, Su Wan widened her eyes and looked at Jiang Xuecheng, gradually feeling a little confused.

What did she mean that Jiang Xuecheng knew?

Jiang Xuecheng gazed at Su Wan and gave her a reassuring look. His clear and dark eyes were filled with embrace and sympathy.

Su Wan’s look froze slightly and knew it was not the time to argue. She couldn’t lose her sense of propriety.

Trusting the man beside her was the most important thing right now.

When Jiang Xuecheng saw that Su Wan had slowly calmed down, he looked down and smiled.

“I only have a basic outline of this matter and the most important thing now is to find a witness. Madam Du, you know best what happened back then. Why don’t you tell us?”

The wind in the afternoon blew, bringing along some warmth. Du Huimin wore her sunglasses again.

Her huge sunglasses covered more than half her face, making people unable to see her current expression.

“Wan, I can only tell you that your parents’ accident was pre-planned and as for who the murderer is, I apologize, I can’t reveal that.”

Su Wan stared at Du Huimin with both hands trembling. Although she had guessed so, the shock in her heart was still indescribable when it was confirmed by someone.

The sultry air seemed to have stopped that instant. Su Wan clenched her fist and pain started radiating in her heart.

She took a deep breath and finally couldn’t control her tears. Drop by drop, her tears fell on her cheeks.

Du Huimin looked at Su Wan’s almost broken spirit and pursed her lips slightly while still looking cold and indifferent.

“Please excuse me.”

Du Huimin turned around hastily. What affected her most currently was the documents mentioned by Jiang Xuecheng.

Whose child was Su Yurou, that woman who was pretty on the outside but vicious on the inside, bearing now?

If Su Yurou really dared to do something against the family, she would chase her out even if ten thousand people were to stand in her way.

Su Wan widened her eyes and stared blankly. Her usually lively eyes were now dull and she appeared to have been drained.

Jiang Xuecheng looked at Su Wan and his heart ached. He held Su Wan’s shoulders and with a low voice, said, “Wan Wan, I didn’t tell you previously because I was afraid you’d be sad over this matter.”

Su Wan sniffed and knew Jiang Xuecheng had done it for her sake. She smiled weakly. “Xuecheng, you know who murdered my parents, don’t you?”

Jiang Xuecheng was silent for a moment. The answer was cruel and he didn’t want to tell Su Wan the answer directly now.

“Wan Wan, I’ll tell you when I’ve collected enough evidence. Let me take care of this matter.”

Su Wan’s face kept changing. She nodded as she choked and said alright.

Slowly, Su Wan’s expression became firm. No matter who the murderer was, she would be merciless!
