The Male Lead’s Villainess Stepmother
Chapter 32 - The Fate Of A Cannon Fodder (2)Chapter 32 – The Fate Of A Cannon Fodder (2)
The man was squatting down with his back to Yan Shuyu, so she couldn’t see his face. His back, though, looked quite majestic, and his impeccable suit clearly stating the fact that he was an elite. With Yan Shuyu’s experience, he was probably a very handsome man as well.
(T/N: Really? Her experience could allow her to tell that a man is good looking from his back? That’s some skill.)
By now, the original owner had worked there for two months and had seen her fair share of tall, rich, and handsome customers. Naturally, Yan Shuyu assumed that some tall, rich, and handsome customer saw how cute the little kiddo was and decided to play with him for a little bit – without sounding too braggy, her instant son was very cute. If only she knew someone in the acting field, she would want him to be a child star so he could make some money.
Long story short, Yan Shuyu was quite used to everyone falling in love with her instant son immediately so she didn’t think much before she headed toward the two of them.
She barely gotten closer before Zhang Yuanjia spotted her. The little kiddo stood on his tippy toes, “Mommy, over here~~”
He was grinning from ear to ear, looking even more excited than he was when in the playground. How was he so excited chatting with an adult? Yan Shuyu grumbled to herself, but she maintained her serious look, “You didn’t even tell me when you walked away, don’t ‘over here’ me now.”
“I am sorry, mommy.” The little kiddo apologized right away, but his eyes were curved, and his voice whiny. It was obvious that there wasn’t much sincerity in his apology.
Nonetheless, Yan Shuyu wasn’t a mother with great principle herself and wasn’t really upset, so she started smiling again as soon as the kiddo apologized, “Okay, I will forgive you this time,” she said as she kept on walking towards the two of them.
Zhang Yuanjia’s “old buddy” did not turn around during the mother and son’s conversation. He finally stood up slowly when Yan Shuyu was about to walk up to them. Yan Shuyu paused suddenly and had a bad feeling.
The next second, the man who had just stood up casually looked at her. Yan Shuyu felt her scalp tingling and wanted to turn around and dash – that handsome features, the look that suggested friendliness yet also capable of keeping others in check, this was definitely the male lead’s father.
He has her son, so as much as Yan Shuyu wanted to take off running, she still remained standing where she was. At the same time, she exercised her imagination: she bedded the big boss last week and today, she happened to meet him again. This sounded oddly like a plotline of those cheesy novels where the female lead ran away pregnant with the male lead’s child.
But, she really wasn’t one of those young wives who’d say no verbally when her body was very true to itself. She even stopped by the pharmacy by her house on her way home and picked herself up a morning after pill just to be sure. She wasn’t running away while pregnant…. Oh wait, she had been trying to stay as far away as possible from the big boss. Why was her instant son trying to get close to him? Was she fated to be the cannon fodder after all?
Suddenly, it crossed Yan Shuyu’s mind to abandon her son altogether. =.=
While all sorts of crazy thoughts went through Yan Shuyu’s brain, she was staring at Boss Zhou in a very infatuated manner. Boss Zhou was also looking at her calmly, showing no intention of being the first to break the silence. From the perspective of an outsider, it looked like two lovebirds looking at each other; to a point that while many others noticed Boss Zhou and wanted to come and greet him, they felt that they should not interrupt and just stand and watch from afar instead of troubling him.
Having received Yan Shuyu’s text and just now “finishing up” all her work and coming to meet her was Chen Jing, who stopped half way and started questioning: Was she overthinking this? Perhaps, Yan Shuyu and the big boss were already an item? She even wondered if that was Boss Zhou’s son…
Regardless of whether they were already an item, what she could definitely tell there was chemistry between the two, and she couldn’t possibly intrude at this moment. She’d better go back, “busy” herself some more, and come back later.
