Chapter 81: The guild isn’t very...
It has been a couple of hours since our two groups have left the guildhall, and now, we were standing outside the emerald forest looking at each other. I was in my normal combat clothes with two white Katanas strapped to the back of my waist, showing what weapons I was going to use. Kayda or Kay disguised as many people know her name. she was wearing the same outfit she had on when we first met in the restaurant. Getting tired of the silence, I sighed before talking.
“Well, let’s introduce ourselves,” I said, smiling at the 5 people in front of me with Kayda standing beside me.
“Okay, I will go first. My name is Kay. I am a Fire sage and a high-level one. I am also going to keep my guild rank private as I am only here to supervise this troublesome fox.” Kayda said, hitting my shoulder.
‘Hiding everything I see.’ I thought after hearing her introduction before I had an idea.
“Such a heartless Dragonoid you are,” I said, holding my shirt above my heart, faking a pain excretion.
“...” not saying anything, she just stared at me like I was stupid.
“You really are heartless,” I said, seeing I wasn’t going to get any reaction from her. Clicking my tongue, I looked at the group and started my own introduction. “Well, you guys can call me Nova. I am a Dual Warrior low-level. My guild rank is the same as you guys.” I said, tapping the two ice katanas on my waist and gesturing towards them at the end.
“Woah, 2 Exotic classes! How cool. I feel very honored to fight alongside you guys.” The girl with daggers strapped to her thighs said, jumping in excitement. “My name is Mary. I am an assassin class mid-level and a C guild rank.”
.....
“I am Nat. I am a fire mage high level and same rank as Mary.” The guy with red robes said from beside Mary in a monotone voice.
“I am the wonderful and most powerful swordsman in the capital. My name is Dalton.” The man with gold color armor said, taking a heroic stance? Or whatever you call it if you look up into the sky with your hands on your waist while your armor looks shiny in the sun.
“Dalton, can you like not to do that.” The Grey head said, looking at his friend with a disappointed gaze. Looking at us with a small bow and spoke. “Sigh, please ignore this idiot. My name is Gaby. I am the tank of the team. My level is pretty high, and I am B-rank.”
“Cool, never seen a tank in action before,” I said, looking at the giant shield on his back.
“I guess I am last. My name is Catrina. I can use earth and wind magic.” The last girl with brown robes said with a small bow.
“Now that that is out of the way. We are here to eliminate 5 orcs. It’s an elimination quest that is usually for a party of 10, but we are high in enough rank to do it only with 6 people. I am not including myself.” Kayda explains, holding up the quest paper.
“Huh? only 5. I thought it was more than that,” I said, disappointed.
“Don’t underestimate them. They are quite strong. even if you’re an exotic class, you will need to be at least level 400 to fight them alone.” Gaby explains with a serious face.
“Huh, that is around about 1700 in stats, right?” I asked, tilting my head at them.
“Yes, that is where the strength and defense will be, while their speed will be about 1300. but you don’t need to worry about my party, and I can easily kill an orc.” Dalton said, smiling at me with a wink.
“Ha-ha, why aren’t I surprised they are so slow,” I said in a hushed tone rubbing my head making it seem I feel embarrassed.
“It seems Dalton has charmed another maiden,” Mary said, snickering to herself with a hand hiding her mouth.
“Charmed? Sorry, but I don’t swing that way. Better luck next time.” I said, waving him off.
“What!?” Mary and Dalton exclaim, surprised with wide eyes.
“Why does that surprise?” I said, lifting my shirt revealing my six-pack.
“Oh, my,” Catrina and Mary said, holding their noses while the men look at it me with complicated expressions.
‘They are probably jealous, Hehe.’ I thought, snickering evilly.
“See, I am as close to a male body I can get. Without the third leg.” I explain, covering my six-pack before continuing. “So does Maiden still fit me, Mary?”
“Oh, come on, you are still cute in your own way. I am certain a lot of women would love to date you.” Mary said, smiling at me with thumps up before looking at Dalton next to her and said tapping his back. “It seems you lost this one.”
“Can we move on? This is no place to try and pick up someone,” Kayda said, visibly annoyed.
“Huh? Oh, oh so you-” Mary said while looking between Kayda and me with a smirk.
“She is right. Let’s go,” I said, interrupting Mary while walking into the forest.
“Aah, I wasn’t done talking!” Mary complains.
“Just leave it be, Mary,” Catrina said, hitting Mary over the head.
“Fine,” Mary said, pouting following behind me.
‘At least Catrina has ahead. Sadly, she isn’t powerful, only a sage at level 400. I think Gaby is the strongest, being level 530. thinking about it, how is he a high level at only that. is the social system so different from the black ops?’ I thought, looking at the group behind me.
“Yes, the black ops power system is way different, and they are more trained than adventures, so don’t try and compare level and power with between them,” Kayda whispered, only I could hear. Looking at her, I saw she was walking a few meters away from me.
“Why are you walking so far away from me?’ I ask, confused.
“I am only here to observe,” Kayda said, avoiding my eyes.
“Kayda, are you a shy person?” I asked, making her look at me with wide eyes before I continued. “Like with new people and all?”
“Ugh, I just... Yes.” Kayda said, looking away in embarrassment, I presume.
‘Oh, well, you don’t have to worry about it because I am here.” I said, rapping my one arm around her while using the second to point at myself while I was looking down at Kayda with a massive grin on my face.
“You seriously are...Ugh,” Kayda mumbled in frustration getting out of my hold with ease.
“What?” I asked, looking at Kayda, who was just walking away from me.
“AAAHHH!” Suddenly while I was still busy wondering why Kayda walked away from me, we heard a scream come from deeper into the forest.
“Oh, someone is in need,” I said while the rest of my group ran past me towards the scream.
“Come on, Nova. We got to help.” Kayda said, tapping my shoulder.
“If you say so,” I said, started running after the group at the same speed as them.
After 15 minutes of running, we came to an opening with multiple destroyed trees with multiple injured people lying around. Sadly, or luckily, the thing that did this wasn’t around. The only sign that it was gone was a tunnel of destroyed trees.
“Hey, are you okay? How can we help.” Catrina said worriedly, running closer to a guy on the floor not far away.
“Guild employees? What are they doing here.”? Dalton said, inspecting a guy on the floor with a bark sticking out of his torso.
“Why do I always find trouble wherever I go,” I said, annoyed, walking past 12 bodies with some of them still breathing.
“I count about 23 people around,” Kayda said with a heavy voice.
“Huh, I wonder if we follow this path if we find out what did this,” I said before receiving a hit over the head by Kayda.
“Can you not. we need to figure out how to save as many as we can.” Kayda said angrily.
“Do anyone have any idea how we can get them back at the capital?” Gaby asks, looking around at everyone before going to his own party talking with them.
“Fine, we don’t have a healer with us, so we have two options,” I mumbled only so Kayda could hear it. Looking at her showing two fingers. “First, you use your transformation and take them to the capital to get healed and then come back for us, or I do it and expose my race.”
“Un that sound a good plan, but...” Kayda said but trailed off, looking at everyone around at everyone on the ground.
“You won’t fit all of us on your back. There are about 16 people that can still be saved. The rest is already dead or won’t make it to the capital. I can freeze all 16 of them to your back, but you will need to leave us here.” I explain, listing to the breathing of everyone on the ground.
“I can’t leave you.” Kayda protested.
“Kayda, if I go with you, we leave the other 5 to die as well. They won’t hold out against a group that will most likely come after the smell of blood,” I explain, looking at the tree around us.
“Fine, but I will be back under an hour,” Kayda said before starting to transform into a dragon.
“Woah!” Multiple people exclaim in surprise seeing a dragon.
