Rebecca was embroidering baby's clothes in the living room, together with Ebony when the guard entered the house.
"My lady, an old man named Terros is waiting for you outside the gate. He told me that he come here to visit you," the guard said.
Rebecca's eyes widened. "What-? Grandpa Terros is here!?" she asked, her brows knitted in surprise. Did something bad happen to her friends? She quickly put down the embroidery tools on the sofa and rushed to the gate.
Terros smiled brightly after seeing Rebecca approaching the gate. He was grateful that the girl is home, it makes his job easier. "Child! I'm here for a visit!" he said merrily.
Rebecca looked at the guard. "Please open the door, let Grandpa in!" she ordered.
"Aye, my lady!" the guard obeyed and opened the gate.
Terros entered the gate. "Thank you, guard!" he said.
The guard nods his head and returned to the guardhouse.
Rebecca directed Terros to the wooden bench under the shade of the tree.
They settled on the chair.
Terros looked at the pregnant woman, she looks okay. "How are you, child? It's been a long time. You haven't visited Graven's manor. Laura was worried about you so she send me here to find out if you're okay," he said.
Rebecca smiled. "I'm fine. Please tell Laura and Graven not to worry about me because I'm doing fine here. I'm enjoying my married life," she answered.
"Nice to hear that!" Terros said.
"Where are they right now? Home?" Rebecca asked.
Terros shook his head. "No. They're in a fantastic beach resort right now together with Sir Nicholas and his family, enjoying the place. You are the only one missing there. Calder and Horace were there as well. It's a happy occasion for everyone. Laura would love you to join them if it's possible..." he said.
"Wow! The beach! So nice!" Rebecca's eyes twinkled with excitement. Can I go there right now?
'Why not?' a tiny voice screamed in her ears.
Rebecca stood up. "Alright, I'll go with you to the beach! I'll just get my bag," she said and rushed back towards the house.
"Don't rush! Take your time!" Terros said, smiling in amusement. For such a pregnant woman heavy with twins in her tummy, Rebecca moves like the flash.
Rebecca nods her head and entered the house.
Ebony looked at Rebecca and asked, "Are you going somewhere?"
Rebecca nodded her head. "Yeah, if my husband come home, please tell him that Grandpa Terros comes here to invite me to join my friends in the beach gathering! I'll come home tonight!" she replied and climbed the stairs. "Please, let Grandpa in," she added.
"Okay," Ebony replied and went to the entrance of the house and motioned the old man to come to the house.
Terros entered the house and smiled pleasantly at Menedelia's sister.
"Come inside, Grandpa. Do you like to drink water or coffee?" Ebony offered politely.
"No thanks, I'll just wait for Rebecca," Terros replied and settled on the sofa. "Come with us to the beach!" he invited her.
Ebony smiled. "Not today, some other time, maybe?" she declined politely.
"Okay," Terros said. "Don't worry, I'll personally bring back Rebecca here tonight to ensure her safety," he said.
"Thank you, Grandpa!" Ebony said.
"Did your sister Menedelia visit here more often?" Terros asked to keep the conversation going.
"Yeah, she's here five days ago," Ebony answered. "She's currently busy with her Palm Reading Business located in the public market in the MeerVille Town," she added.
"Ah, okay. If I'll have a chance to go to the market one of these days, I may drop her shop a visit," Terros said.
Ebony smiled.
Rebecca descended the stairs holding a medium size bag.
Terros went to the stairs. "Let me carry that for you, dear," he offered.
Rebecca handed the bag to Terros. Then she looked at Ebony. "I'm going now..." she said.
"Enjoy the beach!" Ebony said with a smile.
"I will!" Rebecca replied and grasped Terros' arm.
Rebecca and Terros vanished from Ebony's view.
Suddenly, Corbin materialized in the middle of the living room.
Ebony was startled. "Y-your wife is not h-here... she left with Grandpa Terros just a few seconds ago," she stammered.
"I know, I've seen them talking outside and I heard their conversation in my invisible form," Corbin replied casually.
Ebony's brows furrowed. "My lord, why you didn't stop Rebecca from leaving?" Ebony asked, confused.
"Because I don't want to spoil the happiness and excitement that I saw flashing in my wife's eyes after learning that her friends were enjoying the beach and she was the only one missing in their group," Corbin said.
Sighing, Ebony murmured, "Ah, okay..."
Silence enveloped them for a moment.
"My lord, you don't want to follow them to the beach in your invisible form?" Ebony suggested.
"No need. I will only spoil their fun there. It's okay for my wife to enjoy her friends' company today, she totally deserves it. As long she returns home safely tonight then I'm fine," Corbin replied.
"Ah, okay. Are you going to stay longer? I'll prepare a snack for you," Ebony offered.
"No need, I'm going back to my workplace now," Corbin responded.
"OK," Ebony murmured.
Corbin vanished from the living room in the blink of an eye.
Ebony shrugged and continues knitting.
...
Terros and Rebecca exited the carriage that they hired after arriving at the private beach resort.
Another carriage arrived.
Calder and Horace exited the horsed-drawn vehicle. The men grinned happily at Rebecca.
"Look who's here! It's Rebecca and Grandpa Terros!" Horace shouted in glee.
Calder smiled at Rebecca. "Nice to see you again, girl!"
"I miss you all!" Rebecca smiled brightly at her friends. "I'm going to join the fun just like old times! I hope we're not late yet!" she gushes.
"I think not! I can still smell the aroma of delicious dishes from here, which means they haven't eaten lunch yet! Let's go inside! I'm getting hungry!" Terros said enthusiastically.
The guard opened the gate and the visitors went inside.
The aroma of delicious foods floated in the air.
The caretaker and the servants were putting dishes on the two picnic huts, each equipped with a long table and chairs.
The women helped the servants in arranging the dishes.
Laura saw Rebecca, she stood up in glee, waving her hands at her happily. "Rebecca, come here!" she said, smiling with happiness.
Nicholas looked at the newcomer. "Wow, Rebecca, Calder and Horace are here! Just perfect! Join us, guys!" he said merrily.
"Hello Uncle, hello all!" Rebecca greeted everyone.
Graven vacated his chair so that Rebecca can sit beside Laura.
"OMG! I didn't expect that you can join us today! I'm so happy!" Laura squealed in delight.
"Me too! I was knitting baby clothes in the living room when the guard informed me that Grandpa Terros is outside the gate wanting to see me. And when he mentioned that everyone is at the beach right now, and you want me to join in the fun, I got super excited! So, I'm here!" Rebecca beamed happily.
"I'm so happy that you're here!" Laura raved. "By the way, we're going to have a second wedding happening in Father Nicholas' Mansion soon! I hope you can attend that occasion," she said.
"Sure! I would love to! I wouldn't miss it for the world!" Rebecca responded. Her eyes were drawn to the fantastic sight of the calm blue sea and the white powdery sand. "I can't wait to swim in the sea! It's been ages since I last visited a beach and swim on it!" she muses.
"We'll have the sea by ourselves later after we're done eating lunch," Laura said, smiling radiantly.
The servants retreated after putting all the dishes on the long table...
Nicholas addressed his visitors and family. "Everyone, let's enjoy the feast in front of us, and thanks to the ones who prepared and served it! Let's eat!"
The people starts putting food on their plates and began eating.
One hour later.
The table was already deserted 'coz the people were back on the beach, enjoying the amazing view of the beautiful beach and the company of each other.
After frolicking in the water for two hours, Laura and Rebecca were resting on the lounge chair, enjoying the refreshing drink served by the servant.
Laura looked at Rebecca and asked, "How are you? How's married life? Did you enjoy it?"
Rebecca smiled brightly. "Yeah. My husband is very attentive to me, he's very caring and loving, and he gave me everything I need... food, servant and all. What more can I ask for?"
"I'm so happy for you!" Laura said with a smile.
"How about you? How's married life?" Rebecca asked her the same question.
Laura smiled brightly. "Same, I'm also enjoying a blessed life because I'm living in the same house with my family and I have a loving husband who provided me everything that I need. My life is perfect nowadays, I hope no more trials will come our way so that I can enjoy this happiness forever!" she said wistfully.
Rebecca smiled and said, "I'll try to make your wish happen because it's also my wish..."
Laura looked at Rebecca's face. "How-?"
"It's about time that Corbin and Graven meet each other and discuss long lasting peace for you and for me and for our children. I also want to live in a peaceful environment for a long time and the only way to achieve it is to establish peace between our families," Rebecca declared.
"You're right!" Laura agreed.
"I'll visit your home again after I can convince my husband to meet Graven as soon as possible," Rebecca said.
"Okay. I'll wait for that," Laura replied.
The women sipped their drinks, watching their family, friend's and relatives enjoying the crystal clear water of the ocean.
