Chapter 143: Elemental Seeds.
When the crowd noticed Ozul standing up from his position, they stepped back to make way.
When others got out of the way, Ozul noticed that the last petal was really turned black. It was only now that the plant looked like something that would be called Elemental Lotus.
He did not approach the Lotus since he felt that it was still going through the process. And just as he expected, the innermost petals hadn’t fully opened yet.
In front of their eyes, the two petals started to slowly separate.
Meanwhile, waves of Mana visible to the naked eye began to come out from the Elemental Lotus. Rank-6 Mages all created a coat of their own Mana outside of their bodies to withstand the pressure.
All Rank-5 Mages had already left the room and were there in the tunnel. Only Blaze was still trying his best to stay in the room.
However, he still got pushed to the farthest corner. How could he withstand the pressure when even the Rank-7 were having some difficulties?
.....
“Young Miss! We shoul-... We should get out of here!” Venessa shouted with difficulty. She and Hanry were trying their best to help Clara stay in the room as well.
But the intensity and the pressure of Mana kept increasing to the point where they had difficulties protecting themselves, much less Clara!
Clara looked around the room and saw that Ozul expressionlessly stared at the Lotus. While everyone else was suffering, he stood there in his own thoughts as if he didn’t feel anything.
She gave a bitter look towards Raven, who stood behind Ozul and left the room while biting her lips.
Ozul did not notice anything since all his attention was on the Lotus. He watched how the black and white petals slowly distanced themselves from each other.
It seemed like the process would take a few minutes. Ozul did not mind it, but it was becoming hell for the others in the room.
1 minute... 2 minutes... 3 minutes...
As the minutes passed, it was becoming unbearable for even Rank-6 Mages! The first one to leave the room was a blonde man. Following his example, others began to go as well.
Five minutes into the process and the only Rank-6 Mage in the room was Raven!
However, her feat of being able to withstand the pressure was overshadowed by none other than Blaze!
After noticing his efforts, Ozul had decided to help him a little by creating a thin wall in front of him using Ball of Purity.
Although the wall helped Blaze to protect against the waves, he still had to bear the density and pressure of the Mana in the room. He gritted his teeth and clenched his fists. It looked like he would start bleeding any minute now!
The three Rank-7 Mages looked at him with eyes filled with jealousy. They knew that they wouldn’t have been able to withstand the pressure even when they were just Rank-6 Mages.
It was at that point when Ozul noticed something and suddenly created a thin wall in front of Raven as well.
When others noticed his behavior, they knew something huge was coming, and all of them chanted their respective protective spells.
But they did not have enough time before the room shook again and;
*Woooommm*
The Elemental Lotus released a giant wave. It was so fast and dense that the Rank-7 Mages were all flung at the walls. The three of them spat out blood as they fell to the ground.
It took them a few seconds to recover from the shock since even their body strengthening Spells didn’t help them much.
On the other hand, Blaze dropped to the ground sweating buckets while Raven tried her best to stop her hands from shaking.
Ozul was pushed back several steps as well since he did not have anything protecting him. He looked at the people present in the room, wondering why they were so dead set on remaining in the place anyway.
After the last wave, the pressure and density of Mana had suddenly disappeared as if the earlier force that shook the whole room was a mere illusion.
Everything came to a standstill, but Ozul felt the heat released from the Elemental Lotus since he was the closest to it.
He saw the Lotus fully matured in front of him. The nine petals looked to be glowing with their respective colors.
However, The most interesting thing was not the Lotus itself, but the seeds. He noticed nine small beads of the same nine colors resting right in the middle of all the petals!
The heat was actually not released from the Lotus, but from the seeds instead. Ozul then remembered how it was not the Elemental Lotus that the Snakes had been here for, but the Elemental Seeds.
Ozul started to approach the flower when it looked like it had finally fully matured, and there was nothing else left to add to it anymore.
The others could only look from afar since they couldn’t bear the heat. They were already exhausted after giving their best not to die because of the pressure. They weren’t so stubborn to torture themselves again.
When Ozul was right next to the Lotus, he expected something that would try to stop him from getting the Elemental Seeds. But unlike how he thought, the Seeds lay there waiting for him just to take them.
As he extended his prosthetic arm to pick the seeds, he noticed that it was so hot that his sleeve literally disappeared in ashes in seconds!
Next, the materials that the hand was made up of was getting redder by the seconds. Ozul concluded that he wouldn’t be able to pick up the Seeds before the arm actually melted!
Since he couldn’t do it himself, he produced the Ball of Purity and made it into the shape of a hand like the old times. Just like when he did not have prosthetics, he used to use the Ball of Purity as his limbs.
As the black hand picked up a dark blue seed, the dark blue petal suddenly withered away!
At that instant, Ozul realized that the Lotus itself had no other use. Rather than the Lotus as a whole, everything was actually stored in the Seeds.
After that, he did not try to be gentle with it and started picking up all the Elemental Seeds. There were only nine of them as well. One by one, the Petals began to wither away while the intense heat also began to diminish.
The Seeds did not lose their heat after Ozul had picked them up, but he covered them with the Ball of Purity, so nothing leaked out.
In a few seconds, there were no petals like previously. When Ozul came near it, the previous Lotus only felt like a typical plant that had wilted already.
Just as he was about to pluck it to confirm, it suddenly turned into ashes! Following that, the giant tree roots started to shake a little before withdrawing back in the ground.
The walls of the room shook, and the vines that were protruding out of everywhere started to retreat slowly.
The people who had retreated back to the tunnel returned to the room when they noticed the unusual behavior of the vines.
All of them were shocked to see that in place of the Elemental Lotus, there were only some ashes on the ground. At the same time, the giant roots were nowhere to be seen as well.
The vines that hung high on the roof also started to recede back to wherever they came from.
Slowly, the whole place was changing. It looked like what the white Snake had said was true. This garden really did change locations after the Lotus had bloomed.
Since it was a natural process, no one minded it. They were just amazed to witness this scene with their own eyes.
Meanwhile, Ozul held a black cube made of Ball of Purity in his hand. The cube contained all nine Elemental Seeds.
Ozul did not know what they were really used for, but he was sure of one thing; they contained energy in such a complicated form that he was sure could actually kill a Rank-9 Mage if they all suddenly burst together!
It meant that if he was not careful with them, it could probably be harmful to him as well.
It was at this point that when the dirt walls were getting absorbed into the ground that he noticed the tip of something protruding out of the ground.
Normally, he would have ignored something so random like this. However, that thing was really eye-catching with all the smudged drawings etched onto the dull golden surface.
Ignoring everyone’s curious eyes, he made his way towards it.
The black cube just floated beside him while he quickly held the thing in his hand before the mud wall disappeared with it.
Ozul had to put some force behind his hand before being able to pull the thing out. When all of it came out of the mud, he realized that it was something like a book. Although he wasn’t sure because of all the mud on it.
He gave it a jerk, but the cover was still unreadable. He turned around and went towards Raven when he remembered that she had a Spell especially for cleaning purposes.
Raven was more than happy to be of help and immediately waver her hand before the mud stuck onto the book started to wither away.
After a few seconds, all the mud was cleaned and it became apparent that it really was a book. Although it looked really old from its appearance.
