Isaac and Luna stepped out of the Breakfast Room after eating their bellies full and paying for their food.
After taking the first steps on the streets, they noticed how crowded the place had become. There wasn't enough space for the cars to move on the roads because the sidewalks were too full, causing others to walk on car roads.
"I didn't expect the festival to be so popular," Luna said while locking her hands with Isaac's. They began to walk down the crowded streets, and soon she found out that Isaac seemed to have a destination in mind.
When the streets began to split, Isaac slipped the phone out of his pocket and opened a Maps App.
At first, he zoomed in, and the places of the name popped up. He used his thumb and began moving around the map and soon found the place where he was planning to take Luna to.
He tapped the screen, and the directions began to show. Then, Isaac skimmed through the path with his eyes and found a shortcut to reach the place.
He pocketed the phone, left the sidewalk they were walking on, and entered an alleyway.
Luna was curiously walking after and saw the end of the alleyway. They entered another street, and it was even more crowded!
Instead of the crowd going in different directions, they were all walking toward the same building.
She curiously tip-toed and managed to see over the sea of people and saw a stadium-like building in the distance.
There were lights flashing, and the sound of music rumbled.
"What is this? A concert?" She curiously looked at Isaac and only saw his handsome smile. Her cheeks flushed as her vision became slightly hazy.
Isaac led her past the crowd of people, and only half an hour later, they entered the stadium.
It was a free event, and everyone could enter as long there were seats available.
Soon, they reached the stands and looked around for available seats. Then, they saw two empty seats right next to each other.
They walked up the stairs and reached the row of stairs where their seats were.
"Excuse me," Isaac said while moving past two elderly figures who were already seated. They were only a few seats away from theirs.
The elders gently smiled and pulled their legs back to allow the two youngsters to pass.
Luna smiled at them and soon reached their seats. When they were about to stand down, they noticed something on the chairs.
There were two black touchscreen phones. Luna at first thought that someone had forgotten them and that seats were occupied.
However, Isaac looked around and saw everyone holding the same phone. Everyone tried different methods to open the screen but weren't successful.
He grabbed the phone and sat down. Luna followed his example and did the same. She soon noticed that everyone was holding the same phone, making her curious about what was in it.
Isaac, at first, tried to open it by simply pressing a tiny button on the side. It did nothing. Then, he tried moving his finger across the touchscreen, but that did nothing.
"Maybe it is broken?" Luna spoke her mind out. Even though her theory was very far-fetched.
"Not sure." Isaac pocketed the assumed broken phone and scouted the place of the event.
There was a large platform stationed in the middle of the stadium. A large screen and twenty chairs were placed around it.
There were also twenty VR Helmets sitting on top of the chairs!
Isaac saw Luna's baffled look and decided to tell her what the event was, "This is an event for White Online. Apparently, there will be ten events total, and this is only the first."
"Wow!" Luna exclaimed. She didn't expect it and thought it was some kind of showcase of VR Helmets.
Cheers!
Out of nowhere, the crowd began cheering. Isaac and Luna turned their heads toward the platform.
A tall and handsome man with short black hair, a dainty nose, and well-defined facial features appeared. He was waving his hand as he made his way over to the platform.
Once he took his first steps on the platform, he seized a microphone from a nearby chair and opened his mouth, "Welcome, everyone!"
Cheers!
The cheers became even louder. The young women screamed their hearts out with flushed cheeks.
Isaac heard the nearby conversation, and apparently, the man was a popular idol. However, neither he nor Luna had ever heard of him.
The handsome idol calmed down the crowd and continued, "The first event is a speedrun to complete a dungeon."
Before the crowd could go crazy, he said, "There will be ten duos, and the winner gets a special trophy. It is a fun event, so there won't be any money prize, except you can brag to your friends."
He gave a tiny chuckle, and the loud cheers followed after that.
"Since the event was made for everyone to enjoy their time." He raised his finger and smiled, "There won't be anything fighting-related, but it doesn't mean it won't be exciting."
"You must have already noticed it. Every seat had a seemingly broken phone, but it isn't."
Snap!
He snapped his fingers, and every phone beeped before the screen turned on. The phone screen had word registration and a fingerprint.
"Since there are thousands and thousands of people here, everyone can't compete. It will be a lottery, and lucky duos will be part of the event."
"You and your duo, place your finger at the finger scanner in one of the phones."
Isaac and Luna looked at each other. They communicated with their eyes and nodded.
The nearby audience members were already paired with their friends, family members, or lovers.
The ones who came alone tried desperately to find a partner, but it was easier said than done.
Isaac pulled out the phone and saw that the screen had turned on. He pressed his finger on it, and his name popped up on the screen.
[Isaac Vayne Whitelock]
He gave the phone to Luna, who did the same, and her name popped up on the screen.
On the large screen of the platform, the number of registered duos began climbing rapidly.
