An hour later, he was panting, covered in sweat, and at the top of the mountain, looking down at the forest in front of him in all of its glory.
[How high up are you?] he sent a message and laid back on the small peak. He had his time to take a breath now. After a long time, he could finally take a breather.
Jake was afraid of the moment that Gojira would glance at the familiar dot on the mountain, so he climbed as fast as he could. Even though not a single dinosaur noticed him in the middle of the day, he was still careful.
And he hoped that Myriad Arrows was careful as well. After all, Myriad Arrows had everything that Jake carried. A little cash, but that was not that important as he had the bank card now that he used for everything, but morre importantly, Myriad Arrows had all of the stuff they got here.
He had all of the loot, and in the loot was one Epic Class. That was simply priceless, although the egg in Jake's possession was probably going to be worth more. Much more.
[I'll be there in a few minutes. I can see the peak.]
Jake didn't even bother to look down to see where Myriad Arrows was and which direction he was coming from. If he was just a few minutes away, then all that was left was menial labor.
Myriad Arrows would come here without any problems.
Minutes passed. Jake was calm. He looked at the landscape once more. This was going to be the last time he would look at this wonderful place. After all, this was a place that would destroy itself in a day and a half.
Not many knew about secret realms, even after time passed. They were rare, almost non existent.
But there was a theory that the secret realms that were destroyed in one place would resurface somewhere else. It was just that no one could find them, and that was why no one found the same secret realm twice.
Jake was a believer of this theory. He wasn't sure if anyone in the future would find this place, but when they would, they would see a wonder that was simply impossible to see anywhere else.
Dinosaurs that felt so real, and monsters that seemed impossible to defeat. This was a mystical land, and it was what people wanted out of the virtual world, taken to another level.
Huff!
Myriad Arrows grabbed the final rock and heaved himself onto the peak of the mountain, immediately crowding the place.
"You are finally here. I was waiting for you." Jake smiled.
"How the hell did you get here so fast? I am sure that I was faster than you. When you revived, I was right next to the mountain, because I ran that way." Myriad Arrows was shocked that Jake had gotten here so fast.
"I seem to be the little bit faster." Jake smiled.
"Fine then. We need to move this ro-"
"No. Don't do it." Jake stopped him.
"We rushed the entire process till now. What has you stopping here?" Myriad Arrows asked.
"The time." Jake pointed to the sun.
"If we leave the realm, then we will go directly to the jaws of the boss of the Croatian forest. We won't want that, would we?" Jake said.
"Ahhh. I should have noticed that." Myriad Arrows realized.
"Wait. Then why the hell did I get here so fast? Why did you make me come faster?" Myriad Arrows asked.
Jake smiled at the pouting Myriad Arrows and shook his head.
"All I asked was where you were. I never said that you had to come fast." He said.
He looked back at the sun. It was high up in the air. It was the afternoon. Unfortunately, they would have to wait a long time.
They started working since the morning, and since then, they had been baiting giant monsters that could kill them in one strike, and they went to the nest of an even bigger monster that could kill them with even more ease.
"Now then. Spill it. Why did you give me all of this stuff?" Myriad Arrows asked.
"Ah yes! The stuff. Can I have it back?" Jake asked.
"Tell me why you made me take it though? Why did you go to your death? The Gojira was distracted. I saw that." Myriad Arrows shook his head and said.
"Give me the stuff first." Jake said.
"Fine." Myriad Arrows had no intention of holding on to what was not his. He gave Jake each item one by one. There was just enough space for all of this to happen.
Once Jake accounted for everything, his bank card, the eggs that he collected, the weapons, some loot, and most importantly, the combination of the sword and the Epic Class, he smiled.
"I knew that I could trust you. With this, I should apologize for even having a doubt about you." Jake smiled and said.
"You are still thinking about that? After all of this time?" Myriad Arrows was hurt now. After all that they had been through these last few days, his boss was thinking about that incident all that time ago?
"Trust me, Myriad Arrows. It would have taken a long time for me to actually get my trust in you like I have now." Jake sighed and said.
He wasn't going to trust just anyone, and this was an example of that.
He only opened up to Myriad Arrows after these five days alone with him, and because the circumstances made him do this. But now, he knew that Myriad Arrows was the best right hand that he could ask for.
"So then, you are skirting the question. What was worth losing a level?"
"Ah! That. I found the eggs of the Gojira. It was a pity, I could only get one of them. But this is worth taking the trip back. We have everything that we could possible get here." Jake said. He was still so happy that his mouth automatically curled up for the smile.
Who wouldn't be? He had the most precious thing that any other player had.
No, wait. He had the four most precious things that any player held at the moment.
